I bought this with high hopes given all the 5 star reviews, however I found it tastes just like regular supermarket instant, even with two spoons per mug and it’s a lot more expensive too.I think the only reason it’s being hyped up is because it’s supposedly “fair trade” therefore trendy.I found Douwe Egberts Pure Indulgence instant coffee to be far better than this stuff.Addendum: Months later, I tried this again. Still didn't like it at all and ended up pouring away two jars full.

I'm a coffee freak. So freeze-dried coffee is a sin. I normally buy green (raw) coffee beans, roast over an open flame and brew my own coffee using Chemex and Aeropress. — Ya, that kind of coffee snob... But sometimes I don't have time and NEED A CUP NOW. If you want a quick (quality) cup of coffee, this is for you— I initially got here by reading the review on Wirecutter's site; this was their #1 pick, and I cannot agree more. I've bought four containers in a few months. For freeze-dried coffee (I cannot believe I'm saying this) it's the best I've found.

This is the BEST instant coffee I've ever tasted. Have been using it for years. Dislike my coffee being brewed in automatic coffee makers with their chemicals leaching into my coffee from their toxic plastic parts - the only coffee I would ever use was perked coffee. Living alone, I always had coffee left over which doesn't taste good left over the next day, I had been looking for a tasty solution. The FIRST cup of this coffee I was HOOKED. The BONUS is that it is ORGANIC and free trade. When I have guests, I mix a batch of this then put in in my empty stainless steel percolator & sit it on a warmer to stay hot. SO many compliments I got on the coffee as an after dinner treat & no one ever guessed it was freeze dried.If I ever see it on sale at my grocer's I'll try to get four jars of it & stock up. I was completely out of coffee & the price on Amazon was about the same as the store's regular price so, I figured, "Why not?" and free shipping.

I drink instant coffee when I'm at home. Due to Covid-19, I have been spending more time at home, which means drinking more instant coffee. The previous brand I drank required a splash of milk to take the edge off the bitterness, and also dissolved slowly when put in room temperature or cold water. Not this coffee. I can drink it black or with milk, and it is delicious. And it dissolves in room temperature and cold water, which is great during the summer when I drink mostly iced coffee. I am very pleased with my purchase, and will be buying more when I run out.

I don't do a lot of reviews, but when I do a review it is because something is either really bad or really good. This is really good. I went camping with a friend this past weekend and took some Starbucks instant coffee, which was horrible. When I got home I started doing some research on a better coffee to take with me for my next trip, since I am planning several trips this year. I found the Mount Hagen Freeze Dried Instant Coffee, read some reviews, and bought the 2 pack.It came in and I gave it a try and it was extremely good. Wasn't expecting it to be this good, since it was an instant coffee. I made a cup for my wife who also enjoyed it. The only problem is that I am now drinking the instant coffee and my Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine is now sitting idle. I am definitely ordering more.I rated the coffee 5 stars for Overall, Flavor, and Value, but I did not rate the coffee for Travel as I have not traveled with it.

I've been drinking this coffee for year. If you like a cup of coffee without all that creamer to hide the taste — this is a great choice. It's convenient since it's instant, smooth, and LOW ACID; which is really important for me. It's a great value, since it holds enough to make 60 cups. In all fairness, I like a big strong cup of coffee so I probably use about double the recommended amount in mine.Most of my coffee connoisseur friends even like this instant. Not saying it's the exact same as their French roast or cold brew, but they do tend to comment in a surprised way that they actually enjoy it.I also travel with the travel packets as well (another version of this same item), and I'm never without my coffee. If I can't access hot water, I make an instant ice coffee on the road right in my water bottle.

Why is this good? Instant coffee is not supposed to be good. I roast coffee as a side job, and I know what good coffee tastes like (and it's not Starbucks... bleh). But even still, instant coffee is good for emergencies, camping, etc. I've found very few instant coffees that I like, but for some reason this is good. I mean, we're not talking gourmet, but it is not bitter, and does not have that Folgers / truck stop coffee taste. I can drink it black. So I give it a #1 rating as far as instant coffee goes.

I have always liked the convenience of instant coffee. In college I practically lived on it during finals. Tasters choice and Via have been my go to. My wife wanted me to switch to an organic coffee and I was skeptical. I enjoy just black coffee and occasional creamers Like ice cream unless you start with a good vanilla other flavors won’t be good. Mount Hagen has really impressed me. Not only is the flavor good, there is less acid, it dissolves much better than any instant coffee I ever tried in either hot or cold water. It is less expensive than Via, better for your health because it is USDA ORGANIC and Amazon makes it easy to buy.
