The real deal, but look up what you are about to eat!
If you have ever eaten at one of their restaurants you will be familiar with this hotpot. Fair warning it is very spicy. Like 2 out of 4 spicy for people who eat spicy all the time! I personally love it, but it something you need to get used to aka build up to.Flavour is fantastic, it’s hot, slightly sweet and you can really taste the spices. There is a nice hint of onion/garlic which you can make stronger by adding fresh ones as well. The “tingling” sensation people whine about is caused by Szechuan pepper corns. No authentic spicy hotpot will be made without it! They look like little pepper corns and you are not supposed to eat these! Of course it can happen on accident, but they will numb your tongue and mess with your taste for a few seconds until you become immune to them over time. Honestly again a lovely flavour, anise and flowery at the same time, I personally add them to stews and sauces.Broth lasts a long time, can be reheated the next day as long as stored well (will lose some of the spicyness). My favorite flavour from my favourite brand.Side note: do research into what real Chinese hotpot is so you don’t get shocked by what you are eating. It WILL be spicy, it WILL cause tingles or pain if you are not used to the cuisine. But it will be worth it in the long run! Also drink fresh soy milk on the side, eat hotpot with rice and finish your meal with something containing yogurt. Your insides will thank you later

Not pleasant at all
Bought this after seeing a video of something similar being made. Literally feel like I've been poisoned. Firstly, it isn't really that hot, like it isn't as spicey as you'd think. Secondly, something in it completely overpowers everything else and destroys the taste, so much that you struggle to get it off your tongue. It's not just unpleasant, it's something that shouldn't be added. It tastes like cardamom pod shell and star anise grounded up to make something really bitter. For the price I expected something edible and delicious, not bitter and inedible.
