Iberia Black Beans, 4lb.

My diet includes a variety of different beans every day. I have never met a bean I didn't love. These black beans are excellent quality. They are fresh and intact. Nothing was broken. No pebbles or rocks, and they were very clean, but I still always sort and rinse beans well before using them. I soak them overnight and then pressure cook them for five minutes and I use a natural release. I love to spread black beans on well toasted Ezekiel bread with pure, natural peanut butter and strawberry preserves. It's a heavy dose of fiber, protein, whole sprouted grains, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants ... and it tastes delicious. It's my go to lunch. I also love to spread them on well toasted Ezekiel bread with whipped no salt cottage cheese that I make in my food processor with tomato powder and a variety of spices and herbs. They are delicious beans. They're the perfect texture and very reasonably priced. Dry beans are always a great value for the money and they are so nutritious. I'm not a fan of canned beans. Dry beans you cook yourself taste so much better, and they are much cheaper. I also like to cook from dry to control the salt in my diet. I don't salt beans or any food I eat, but obviously that's a personal preference and it's not the same for everyone.

These are good beans. The beans came spilled in my Amazon package, but I blame Amazon's packing crew for putting products with ripped packaging in their packages. I get the feeling that Amazon is plagued by terrorists that sabotage Amazon, the sellers, and the buyers! I poured the beans into dry storage containers and make sure to wash the beans before soaking them. They cook up well and taste great!

In my years long search for good black beans these fit the bill …. I refrain from soaking them because I don’t like throwing out the soak water (vitamin loss)…. in my experience with them, it takes approximately two hours to cook them which is a good indication of their freshness. The flavor and texture is unsurpassed and I get compliments all the time from friends who try them so take a chance give them a try you’ll never go back!

Perfect taste is great!! I let them overnight in the fridge in some salt water and seasoned during cooking let them cook for an hour and 30mins on medium heat and it came out tasty and soft!

I usually buy these for cooking, but I tested their viability and they successfully sprouted in just two days. For those who value "living food" and high vitality, this is a perfect choice. They are fresh, high quality, and clearly haven't been sitting on a shelf forever. A humble staple, but impressive quality. I will definitely be buying these again.

There is something distinctly, poetically ironic about being a 2 hour plane ride from Jamaica and having to get Chippie's imported to me from England. Since I'm neither as artful or as witty as Miss Lou, I won't attempt to put the full nature of that irony into words (Colonization in Reverse...but with food), it's still something the marketing people at Chippie's should look into as no one residing in the US should have to go to England to get food made in the Caribbean. These arrived today, 10 days earlier than the earliest expected date given, so that was a plus. Also a huge plus was that they were advertized as being the 1 oz pack, which I assumed meant the small snack packs we used to get as children, but instead, I got SIX 5oz PACKS, which is the much larger size. That's a lot of banana chips for one person to eat. May have to give some away. Other Amazon sellers are selling that size and quantity for more than double this price. I am not sure how this seller is able to make a profit selling so many of that size for only $13.50 with free shipping from England. I almost feel as if I'm taking advantage of someone, but I'm really not going to complain. The chips are crispy but on the cusp of going stale. But it's winter where I am and the air is damp, and it was shipped from England so I am taking all that into account and still providing a 5 star rating for giving me more than was advertised and the superfast free delivery. THANK YOU SPELLBOUND FROM ENGLAND. There's nothing quite like a childhood food favorite to remind one of wonderful, happy and simpler times. Who didn't gobble these up as snacks as a kid. Used to eat these and wash it down with a bottle of Kola Champagne or Ting. Good times. No other company makes banana chips like Chippie's. Many have tried and they have all come a distant second. Great to know I can get these on Amazon for an extremely reasonable price.
