This bug zapper is no joke. I have one inside and outside and it does a great job. It's very good and bright and attracts lots of bugs. I have used this one exclusively over the years as it performs the best here in this tropical environment.

Zaps any bugs that fly into it. I haven’t had it long enough to gauge its longevity, durability, etc.Clearly designed to be suspended — sure it can stand on its base, but there is no stabilization, so it likely could be toppled inadvertently. The translated instructions are somewhat murky in places, unfortunately only the box states the device has to be a foot away from a wall, the instructions don’t mention that.Otherwise, seems to be operating well.UPDATE: 4 months laterAfter operating 24/7One bulb burned out at 2 month mark, 2nd bulb burned out at 4 month mark.Update: I bought 2 zappers. After the bulbs burned out on the first one I put up the second (unused) zapper. After 2 months of 24/7 operation both bulbs blew out within a day of each other.I recommend buying replacement bulbs at the same time you purchase one of these zappers.Will I have replacement bulb longevity comments in the future? I don’t know. It depends on whether I think it’s a bulb fault or the unit’s fault. If I think it’s the bulbs I’ll comment on those bulbs directly— if I think the units are the cause I’ll update here appropriately.Reason being is my spouse has multiple of these same zappers at her workplace and they’ve been running their same bulbs 24/7 since they bought them with no blowouts, installed months before I bought mine.

it has been almost 2 years now and ours has pretty much been on all the time. one of the bulbs failed earlier the other one just died a few days ago. The bulbs are supposed to last 3000 hrs. they definitely outlasted that by 3 times as long. I've ordered replacements but the unit still runs fine.While it doew work, the truth is that it doesn't attract flies as well as other bugs like moths. It does kill quite a few flies but it doesn't get them all. it's not like flies can't resist the light
