I have found its better than the branded one I have used for some years, but the company stopped updates for that model.Wasn't keen to give them my custom a second time to have them repeat the same thing, so thought this was worth a chance.The fact that it was less than a quarter of the cost of the previous one, & so far, is much superior to use, I think it won't be such a big deal if it has to be replaced because of outdated software.It's almost like a small tablet, & the shield helps a lot to see the screen in bright weather.It is a fair weight though, so needs a firm fixing.

A good size very clear screen that works well.A very impressive satnav. Set up was easy and for once, the instruction booklet was well written and easy to follow. The most important thing about a satnav is it's accuracy, responsiveness, clarity of instruction and ability to reroute. After setup I took the satnav for a drive along routes I knew to test all of these things and it passed just about everything. A deliberate variation from the route resulted in a rapid recalculation, speed cameras were detected, speed limits are displayed and turn red when you go over. The only oddity I found was in average speed camera zones the speed display turned to KPH rather than MPH but there are plenty of verbal warnings to keep you alert. There might be a setting that needs changing to correct this.Overall great value for money with all the features you will need plus some that you will probably never use.

Bought this to replace my old TomTom. Got us to Austria without any misdirection. Like that you can put overall vehicle size in which seems to work pretty well.....not tried it in a lorry yet but I will shortly. Great value for money in comparison to the new TomTom & it appears to do everything the big brands do just as well if not better. The English voice directions are also much less annoying than the TomTom.

This promised so much - easy to set up (from lorry to car, from km to miles etc.) and some great extras such as calculator and currency translator. However, when testing it - on a local 3 mile drive we noticed that it gives directions after the point you need to make a decision. The point where we lost confidence though was when it randomly told us to go in completely the wrong direction half way through the journey. Anyway, The £64,000 question - was £64 good value? Well, no because it's not fit for purpose.

As yet not as simple as the older Tomtom that we have, but having said that we find the newer Tomtom more difficult. We are in our 70's so that may be part of the reasoning. The Jimwey has features that we like and as we have both a car and a large van it has the flexibility that may be needed.

Been using this product for a while now.It works really well,the only problem I have found is I am a Hgv driver and have weight limits set up and if delivery is in the weight restriction it will not want to take you in there and keep recalculating and may say you have 20 miles to go and when you actually turn into the weight limit you are 0.5 miles away from destination,I have found the best way round this is to move the map around and see where finish point is.

I think the setup process needsimprovement. Moving from screen toscreen was somewhat laborious for the setting of each item. A more streamlined process is required. If those processes were dealt with, itWould make a very good Satnav,Great. Overall I like it, and it is good value for money.

This is different from units I used before but once I got the hang of it I found it to be very good. My only concern it the lack of a home selection but after first use home is easy to find in the history.
