Reaches higher than I expected; Husband leaves this one alone
We have tall cabinets and I got tired of having to hunt down my step stool (is it in my husband's shop? Nope, not there. How about the garage? No, but I finally found my hammer! Oh, there's that step stool ... it's on the back porch being used to prop open a door). I figured my husband needed the step stool more than me (plus, it began to accumulate all the spills, drips, splatters and scratches from his many uses). But this! Wow, I just can't say enough about it. It's very strong, and very sturdy. It's also a lot heavier than I expected, but it needs to be to maintain the sturdiness. I'm not very fond of the unlocking lever to fold the ladder. It's a little hard to pull it to release the lock, but once I got used to it it's no bother. On days when my hands hurt too much, I leave it open in the corner, and take care that my husband doesn't mistake it for a tool shelf. Seriously, it's a very attractive, sturdy and useful stool/ladder and reaches much higher than I expected. If you can be ok with the weight and the unlock lever, you'll be very happy with the product.

Beautiful, sturdy, compact, easy to use. Buy it.
I don't want to rant or rave about a step ladder... But this is a really good step ladder.1: Its very strong, I weigh about 200lbs and I don't feel it wobble under me at all when I use it.2: Its very compact, I actually keep it in the small space between my fridge and my cabinets and I use it to reach the top shelves of my cabinets.3: Its looks great, so I don't mind storing it in the kitchen as opposed to in the utility closet. Its really easy to fold up, just push in the tab at the top step (see picture) and you'll be able to collapse it.The finish on it is actually pretty resilient, which is very surprising. So its not going to look like garbage if it gets dinged a little bit.The feet are grooved, so it will dig into whatever its sitting on pretty good. If you're using it on wood, laminate, or tile floor I would probably put furniture protection pads on it http://amzn.to/2a47bGx6 Month Edit: This thing has held up really well to repeated use. Still sturdy as a rock and still looks great.

Top Step Is 27" High...Not 34"
I didn't measure the other dimensions to see if they were accurate, just the one that meant the most to me. I needed a relatively high step ladder. The typical step ladders or stools for the kitchen were too short and a dining chair was cumbersome. The top step is 27" from the ground for the 3-step version. Not 34". I should still be able to make use of this ladder, but if height is a critical decision point, actual measurements might be valuable information. The weight of the ladder was actually reassuring for me. I like that the beauty of wood is combined with the strength of metal. It's a less industrial/institutional feel for me. The metal support structure of this ladder probably is what adds the most weight to this ladder, but I want that support! Most of the metal is painted to match the wood, so you can hardly tell. There are two silver metal rods that connect the steps at their back pivot points, but I don't mind them. All combine to make this ladder feel substantial, supportive, and secure. Hopefully, this will also make it last longer. There are a lot of stickers, but nowadays with the world of litigation, we have to be warned of everything. I thought this was tastefully accomplished. There is a helpful sticker on the lever instructing you to "Push To Close" and a profile "Danger" sticker that ran along the edge of the top step which was not gaudy or distracting. The stickers that may be visually alarming and serve their purpose are on the underside of the individual steps of the ladder (the top two on my 3-step). Each respective language has its own safety sticker (three total for my version) and three other incidental stickers. When the ladder is open and in use, you won't see them unless the ladder is flipped upside down. In that case, hiding safety labels is probably not your most pressing concern. When the ladder is closed and the underside of the ladder is displayed, you will see them. Perhaps you can position the ladder in such a manner that the topside of the ladder is showing. The stickers are not a concern for me.This ladder came already assembled, so I just had to remove the plastic bag, cardboard, and protective wrapping - it was minimal, so I can see where damage may occur during transit - mine was fine (YEAH!). Opened and closed the ladder to test out its fold-ability and it seems pretty smooth to me. Being able to store it away when necessary will be convenient, but I think it really can be left out and not hidden away.Overall, I gave this ladder four stars. It would've been five had the top step measurement been accurate.

Very good quality and beautiful!
This is a beautiful step stool/ladder. It is a bit heavy but not so crazy that I can't or even mind lifting it. It's solid mahogany wood, so I expected it to be sturdy and heavy. As previous reviews have mentioned, there are a lot of stickers on the back/underside of the ladder. They're easy to remove though with a bit of Goo Gone if needed. But they can't be seen while the ladder is in use nor if folded and placed up against a wall like mine is. It's so nice too that you can leave it out in the open and it looks decorative. I've had friends come over and say, "oooh, what's that"?!? They're surprised when I say it's a simple step stool to reach the upper cabinets in my kitchen! :) The only thing I'd recommend is to stick some rubber grip pads under the bottoms of the legs if you're using it on slick hardwood floors, because the legs spread out a bit and could move a little when you're standing on it, which can be a little scary b/c it feels like it could be a little unstable. Other than that I recommend it.
