Quality at a price
After two years of use, I feel compelled to write a review of this speaker. For background, I have several rooms in my house with Apple HomePod minis and a regular HomePod. The reason for the review is every time I use this speaker in my workout room, I'm astonished at how amazing the sound is coming from this little gem. The price made me pause, for sure. I got it because it had AirPlay compatibility but also because I had a Denon home stereo and was thinking it would integrate easily with that system. As far as AirPlay compatibility, it's been rock solid, even better than the Apple HomePod and I think the sound is more rich. The bass is velvety smooth for such a small speaker. I bought a cheap mounting bracket https://a.co/d/ikB6Yhs to keep it out of the way. It is more than adequate to fill a 12x12 room.

DENON HOME SERIES- EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH IT FOR ME
I like them! I bought them because I bike a few times a week and I wanted a way to have my music follow me as I move from downstairs after riding to upstairs to get cleaned up. I have a Marantz receiver that has HEOS andI wanted to be able to connect the speakers and the receiver to stream everywhere in the house. It works flawlessly for this purpose. I simply use the HEOS app in my phone and I’m able to go from one streaming service to another, the music saved on my phone or a music server in the house. I have purchased the 150, 250 and 350 and they all sound great. I wanted a speaker that could make my house sound like I was in a club and they do the job. What I was surprised by is that when I just want some nice background music (jazz or classical) they deliver excellent sound as well. They fill the area. They can be subtle and warm or loud and forceful without distortion. Setup was straightforward and connection to my WiFi was pretty easy. Sound quality is excellent in my opinion. I started with the 150s and wished for a bit more bass. The 250s IMHO are a really nice balance with plenty of bass. I do not find them muddy like some reviewers stated. Some reviews complained about them having too much bass and I agree that the 350s are bass heavy. This, however, can be adjusted in the EQ, and frankly, I appreciate the bass in so small a speaker. I hid a 350 in a corner and it completely fills the area with music and its placement is hard to detect. The software has been solid in my experience. You can connect different speakers together and rearrange the combinations by dragging and dropping speakers together. It works. I’m still playing around with this aspect of the speaker/software functionality. I am hoping to find that I can setup different combinations (using the same speakers-reusing different speakers in different groupings), save them, and picking from a saved list which combination I want to use in that moment. However, I am not sure that this is possible. Overall, I think they are great sounding, attractive, versatile speakers. They are expensive! But thus far, I’m really happy with them.

Solid, Versatile Sound with Great Features—But That LED is Bright
After using the Denon Home 150 for six months, I can say it’s been one of my most reliable speakers. The sound quality is excellent—clear mids, crisp highs, and a nice amount of bass for its size. It’s perfect for everything from background music to white noise at night. I’ve been using it with DLNA to stream white noise from my phone, which works smoothly over Wi-Fi, and the ability to connect via Bluetooth, USB, or Wi-Fi gives me options depending on what I’m doing. Setting it up was super easy, and the HEOS app makes switching sources or adjusting settings simple. The speaker’s build feels solid, and the design is clean and unobtrusive. I especially appreciate that it’s not locked into a single ecosystem like Alexa or Google Assistant. That means no forced updates, no data mining, and no need to rely on a cloud service—just direct control through the app or physical buttons. It integrates seamlessly with HEOS, and since I also have a Denon AV receiver, I can group them together for multi-room audio. It’s great for syncing music throughout the house during parties or keeping ambient sound flowing while I move from room to room. One of the best upgrades for me was discovering that it works with Home Assistant. After a little setup using the built-in HEOS integration, I was able to bring the speaker into my broader smart home system. Now I can control it with my Home Assistant dashboards, automate it with scenes (like turning on soft music in the morning), and even group it with other speakers through Home Assistant’s media controls. It’s not fully native like some Alexa devices, but the HEOS integration is stable and gives me the control I want without sacrificing privacy. My only real gripe is the LED indicator light—it’s way too bright for a bedroom. I like total darkness when I sleep, and that tiny light was surprisingly noticeable at night. I ended up covering it with black electrical tape, which fixed the issue but isn’t the prettiest solution. Other than that, the only downside is the price—it’s definitely not cheap. But for the sound quality, connectivity options, privacy, and now full Home Assistant support, I think it’s worth the cost if you’re looking for a no-compromise, standalone wireless speaker. Just bring some tape if you’re sensitive to light.

Multi-room music for a much better value than Sonos
We listen to a lot of music. The problem is our record player, TV, and the rest of our home theater was in the main living room but we spend a lot of time in the kitchen as well. Our Echo Dot was no longer cutting it, and you really couldn't sync music between rooms. Denon boasted that their HEOS system would work flawlessly across devices so we decided to try out the Home 150. I can honestly say, I'm blown away with the quality, sound, and ease of use. Since we already had our AVR setup on WiFi, and already had the HEOS app, all we had to do was have our phones locate the speaker and sync with the system. The main feature that I didn't think would work well, was putting on a record in one room, and being able to listen to it in multiple rooms at the same time. This speaker does just that with barely any noticeable syncing issues or lag. The built in Alexa also made the update from the Echo seamless as we use Alexa's features quite often. Normally I'm someone too that has to sit and tinker with a speaker or setup to get it to sound right and honestly, no adjustments needed as long as you follow the instructions during first time use. I highly reccomend this to anyone that is already in the Denon ecosystem and doesn't want to pay the inflated prices for Sonos.

Great Sound, Totally Unreliable
This speaker has been a pain in the ___ to use. I had to send it back two times for repair, right after I purchased it. Now its bluetooth signal will not even show up on iMac running sequoia or iPhone6 running iOS 26.1. The sound is great when it is working.

Denon for the win!
I had been shopping for a permanent replacement to my aging Bose SoundDock speak systems (series I and II) which I kept going for years following some occasional repairs. After the last two started making weird static noises, I knew it was time to let them go. My primary requirements: * Clean deep sound with good bass for a variety of music * Various inputs capable (USB, Aux, Bluetooth...) * No lights displayed on device (for night use) After spending months researching various options, I finally took the plunge with this Denon Home 350 Wireless Speaker. Although cost wasn't really a factor, I wanted to keep it to under $500 since this speaker is meant to be used in my master bedroom to play calming music overnight with some occasional grooving during the day. When I received the speaker, I was pleasantly surprised at its larger size and heavy weight. Although it's a bit too large to sit on my night stand, I did find a suitable location next to a window. The speaker's fit and finish represent a well-made quality product. The setup was relatively easy as compared to other users, although the first software update took some time. Overall, I am very happy with this speaker. Having played everything from soothing meditating sounds to classical to EDM, the sound is consistent and excellent for a speaker in this category. And the best feature for me is no indicator lights on the device when in use. In a darken room trying to fall asleep, there is nothing worst than a tiny bright green power light to sour the relaxing mood. Thank you Denon!

WI-FI setup is difficult
# Setup requires a cable Neither Denon customer or technical support could help me connect the speaker to a home network (WIFI) using the app (the suggested setup). With an ethernet cable to connect the speaker to a router or modem, setup was then very easy. THEN, you can use WIFI. Denon technical support told me I should have been prepared to use a cable for setup. The only documentation I found on the Denon website described the ethernet connection as an option/feature and not a _requirement_ for setup. I have a speaker purchased in September 2024 and a speaker purchased in May 2025 (different packaging) & the app has been updated a few times but the cable is still required. During a recent attempt to setup, I get the same error messages as in September... # Bluetooth without setup is an option w/ inconvenience Without setting up the speaker, long-press the Bluetooth button (2-3 seconds) and it is then possible to pair the speaker with a computer and, I suppose a phone. Of course, not properly setup, the speaker will not connect to streaming services and etc. You can play music from computer to the speaker but, when inactive, the speaker turns itself off (properly setup, the speaker goes into standby). You have to turn the speaker on but, when it is all booted up and happy, the computer will not join with the speaker. You don't have to re-pair the speaker but you have to re-connect... once re-connected, the volume will be muted (I guess to protect the speaker). If you don't hear anything, check MUTE. [to add: even using the Denon 150NV with the miniplug 1/8" input is difficult, if the speaker is not first set up. First, the speaker turns off rather than going to stand-by and, after it boots, a minute or so of pressing the little buttons on top of the speaker is required to get it to recognize/switch to the input via miniplug. The speaker will not just switch to that miniplug input when it detects music...] # End of songs snipped when using Bluetooth Using a streaming service via WIFI, the ends of any songs are not snipped; those play fine. But when playing via Bluetooth from a computer, the last half moment of the song is not played. I don't know if 'snipped' is the correct word but it is distracting. This happens with both speakers I have and is the same on the speaker correctly setup with the app and the speaker playing by Bluetooth without setup. I don't think it is the software I use to play my MP3. I use the 1/8" miniplug jack for a direct connection to the speaker and the end of songs are not snipped. I connect to a cheap portable battery powered speaker ($30) by Bluetooth and no snipping. This is comparing the same tracks (both purchased from Amazon & ripped from CD) and the same MP3 playing software & computer settings. # The speaker has some good features > Sirius XM works fine & you can select a specific channel as preset! > Buttons on top w/ 3 presets allow operation without having to grab a phone!! > option with no voice/microphone tracking is available - Once setup, switching between a streaming service (Sirius for me) and computer Bluetooth works fine. Press a preset on tope of the speaker and Sirius plays. Wake the speaker from standby with the computer and Bluetooth plays. - Bass curve can be adjusted using an app selection [My Devices/Device_Name/Placement] 'corner', 'near wall', 'center of room' and this may help some complaints aboot heavy bass # 3 stars for difficult setup & poor BT playback Difficulty connecting the speaker to a home network is the trouble. Ethernet cable is required as well as a place to plug that ethernet cable in. Snipping the end of songs when using Bluetooth is not preferred... [I haven't had trouble connecting any other device to my network from phone to light to plug to internet radio. Denon is the odd man out.]

Look no further
I bought one Denon Home 250 for the master bed and two Denon Home 150 for the other bedrooms upstairs. Figuring the app out, connecting to Alexa then adding devices took a bit of work but now that it is set up, multiroom works perfectly. I play from Alexa or direct from Spotify. Sometimes have to go back to the app to set the volume balance between the rooms but it works once you know what to look for. Sound is superior. The 250 has a good bass and is very clear across the spectrum. The smaller carry themselves well as secondary speakers or for smaller room. I can highly recommend this product.
