Thank You Auto Fetish Detail!
That guy over at Auto Fetish Detail has introduced many products/tools from other industries to the world of auto detailing. As far as I can tell, this was introduced as the best tire dressing applicator by Auto Fetish back in 2015. You cut it in half (as seen in the pics) and now you get not only the perfect tire dressing applicator, but two for the price of one. Fully saturate sponge with water first and wring out tightly, then apply your favorite tire dressing to sponge face, then apply to tire sidewall. Any comments about this falling apart are from people with unrealistic expectations attempting to dress (perhaps) off-road tires with thick, knobby nuances of tire sidewall that would shred any applicator. It is always helpful if you apply some critical thinking skills/common sense as a basic operating skill set. I only recommend using with water-based tire dressings so that you can rinse this sponge out with basic water after use. Solvent based dressings will make any applicator hard after a couple uses. I have tried so many of the applicators the detail industry offers, but so far they prove inferior to this off-label use applicator sponge.

Tire Shine
I bought this based on the recommendation of Wilson Auto Detailing for tire shine. I detail cars on the side (about 2-3 vehicles a week) and used to use Adams Tire Shine Applicator. It worked for about a month then it fell apart. The adhesive wore off and the applicator part came off. Disappointed I decided to try this. First time I used it, I was immediately impressed. Like Luke from Wilson Auto Detailing does, I wet this with a hose then wring it out and dap it dry with a towel so it's damp not soaking wet. The I use this to apply either Meguirs Hyperdressing or sometimes Chemical Guys VRP. I cut the sponge in half and so far I've only used one half (been about six months now). It works really well. The only downside is that it only works on tires with a smooth sidewall. It your tire sidewall is heavily treaded (offroad tires), I usually resort to a brush to apply tire shine.

Precise!
I have always taken great pride in caring for my vehicles and have always enjoyed riding in a clean car. I recently, after driving a van for 17 years, was blessed with a new to me SUV. I knew I wanted to put a bit more effort in caring for my new wheels and my husband I began to do a some research better/quality items to prolong the exterior and interior of my car. Based on research, reviews, and videos, we decided on Chemical Guys Super Shine for the interior and exterior surfaces and I couldn't be happier. My vinyl, rubber and plastic, both interior and exterior, look AWESOME! Shiny, slick and brand new ... and the shine lasts! It applies easy, smells good, and a small amount goes really far. One of the videos suggested purchasing this sponge, cutting it in half and using out to apply the Super Shine --- It works like a charm. Application goes on smooth and because of the curved surface, the super shine can be applied precisely where I want it, being sure the product does not get on the paint. This sponge makes the job of applying product quick, effortless and precise. Very happy with my purchase.

Good quality
Use it for applying dressing to car tires. Works well when you cut it in half

Great for applying tire dressing
I purchased this after seeing a video by Wilson Auto Detailing online. He had purchased one of these sponges and cut it in half in order to have two sponges available to apply tire dressing. The shallow end can easily fit between the rim and the tire and prevent dressing from touching the rim. The porous side retains a lot of dressing so I can dress and entire tire without having to apply more dressing. I've used this sponge (as two halves) for 6 months of weekly tire dressing and they are holding up very well. Would buy again.

Love this for tire gel
This is a great product for applying tire gel. Simply cut in half and apply tire gel to the end (flat side). The sponge has enough body to prevent it from being too flexible and making application difficult. You can apply gel to tire and then rotate the sponge to apply gel to the lip next to the rim without getting product all over your wheels. I use it with Meguiar's Endurance Gel. Very nice.

Not so good on full side truck tire
It work ok. The reason for 3 stars is that when it sheds on the tire from the raised side wall lettering it sheds yellow instead of black. I guess it'd work on a car with lower raised lettering. Not so good on full side truck tire.
