Great Little Speakers
BACKGROUNDThese boys are tried and true for me. I ordered a pair back in June of 2014 and they worked really well, but I bullied them. I took them on a road trip and messed up the connections, so all faults to the speakers were my own doings. Eventually I ruined them altogether because I was taking them to a gathering and stepped on the aux cord and ripped the aux port out the device. I ordered another pain in June of 2016 and they've been working flawlessly since, because I actually take care of them.SOUNDThe sound quality on these puppies is fine. It's not like... extremely HD sound because hey, they're only $20. It's good enough for someone who just wants loud sound, and a cool light display. They get pretty loud, I can hear them well from across the house.BUILD QUALITYYou have to be careful and treat these kindly. My first pair I bullied, and thus had problems with a bulb burning out, and a connection problem on one of the speakers. But the second pair I have has worked great since day one. They are very pretty speakers.WATER SHOWThe water show is fantastic! It's very responsive to different types of sounds, it's fun to watch them interact with good bass.OVERALLThese are fantastic speakers that will last you a long time if you take care of them (by not taking them on long road trips). I've bought them twice and I couldn't be more pleased, I'm going to purchase another very soon.

Fun speakers for a preteen
We purchased these speakers for our 11 year old as a Christmas now that she has taken to listening to music on her iPod. She would just turn on the iPod in her room while hanging out and the sound wasn't great. These speakers have good sound quality and they are fun. The movement of the water is in time with the music on a slight delay, and it's not an exact science as to how they respond to the music; certain sounds don't always get the same response in water jets throughout the song. But overall it certainly keeps time with the beat and looks good in normal daylight and incredible in the dark. We have had these for a month with not leaking and no trouble.

Beautiful, but sound quality is left at user's discretion.
These are gorgeous speakers! They match with my overall setup incredibly well, and they were gifted to me by my husband -- what a nice surprise to receive! If you want an additional to your setup, these are definitely a nice add-on.However, the sound quality isn't the greatest in comparison to other similarly priced items. There isn't much base, but I was able to connect mine to a subwoofer with a separate on/off switch. While this is an option for those who desire a lot more "substance" to their music, I don't personally recommend it at lower volumes. There is an awkward feedback that the speakers give off when attached to another device, or when paired through another device (better wording!) at low volumes. It isn't desirable, and if I'm not going to be listening at moderate volumes, I simply keep them on for their lovely lighting effect. As others have stated, the liquid that pulses with the music isn't really there unless you have the volume at a mid-low level range (think 30-35+ percent on the computer's main volume setting -- and this varies if you have them paired through another device like I do).Even so, I really find these to be an excellent additional item to my play/workspace. They're fun, and really cool to look at -- and my daughter thinks they're a blast when they're up high enough (she's still little, so the lights and splashing are definitely her thing right about now!).Even with my own personal 4 star rating, I wouldn't recommend these to someone who is looking for exceptional base and sound quality IN ONE. I would, however, recommend these as a casual gift, or something to liven up your desk space if it's lacking. If you are tech-savvy, surely there would be no issue finding compatible subs that can easily be paired. Mine is admittedly older, but still excellent quality. If you are looking for something fun, good looking and entertaining -- for their current price, these are absolutely worth dollar & cents alike.

Eh, they're not the greatest.
My daughter wanted these for Christmas. They arrived in great condition and were as described. The sound is good, but now (3 weeks later) one of the speakers is on the fritz. It only works for a little while before you have to bump it on the bottom to jolt it into working again. Disappointed to say the least. Theyre also not wireless speakers as I originally thought. Otherwise these are cool little speakers that dance to the sound of the music & are really cool to watch.

Interesting but inconvenient for my use
Well it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. The water doesn't move to the beat of the music as often as I'd like, even with the varries of songs I played through my computer. I also am not one for loud music and prefer to keep the volume down between 4-10. And even when I turned up the volume in hopes to get the water moving more often all it did was make it go higher which is expected. I was just assuming it wasn't it didn't catch the beats to make the water jump. I tried muffling the speakers so I could turn up the volume and get the water to jump higher and more often but it didn't work. Anyways it's a fairly interesting speaker and hope to find a way to get the water to work the way I'd like it to. I would still recommend this product to most people since the majority of people who listen to music like it loud, unfortunately I'm not one of those people and I also have to keep the volume low because I don't want to bother my neighbor and family.UPDATE: I'd like to take back everything I said about it not working as I expected it to. It is actually working fine after playing a different song. So it actually depends on the type of song and volume for the water to "dance" often. All it took was trial and error. I can still play my music at a low volume while the water frequently moves. Now that I figured it all out I would rate this product 5 stars. I am very satisfied with my product.
