Almost perfect!
This is one of the best toothbrushes I've tried. It's got short bristles that don't bend so much that you can't actually put enough pressure on the teeth to be effective. The profile of the plastic head is one of the smallest I've found, though I still tried to Dremel it down because my cat who needs the brushing has the tiniest mouth. And it's a much better price and has more surface area for being able to get those back molars without contorting yourself and your feline.

Best kitty toothbrush!
I would give this 6 stars! The kit that I got at the vet came with a terrible stick device that had a brush that was not toothbrush shaped (it is a wedge shaped thing). The bristles were soft but they bent easily when brushing. I selected this toothbrush for two features: brush shape is regular (not flared at one end) so it's not too wide for kitty mouth. And it's made in the USA! And the price is very reasonable. I've been using it daily for more than a week and really like it. The length and width of the soft bristles are *perfect* for kitty mouth. My vet says it's the upper teeth that get the worse plaque buildup as the bottom teeth get some cleaning from the upper teeth. The bristles are soft but because there are lots of them they do a good job of cleaning. The length of the bristle area means that I am covering more area for the same number of brush strokes. And I can get a reasonable amount of the tooth paste on the brush (it has enzymatic ingredients). This is a great kitty toothbrush!Kitty is not particularly happy about brushing but tolerates it. YMMV.

Works, but decided teeth brushing was too traumatic.
These are small and soft. Because the cats aren't very cooperative with brushing I would prefer a toothbrush that had bristles that would reach the upper and lower teeth at the same time. I find that the back of the toothbrush hits the opposing teeth as the cats try to bite it. If it were bristles hitting the teeth then brushing would be much quicker and less traumatic. But it certainly fits both my 17 pound and my 7 pound cats' mouths. I wish this came in different colors so I could tell easily which brush belonged to which cat. I have marked them with magic markers, but the ink wears off quickly for some reason.Edited 4/17: I finally gave up on brushing my cats' teeth. It simply became such a horrible experience for all of us. At first they seemed to put up with it and even seemed to get used to it, then they decided that they had had enough and started running and hiding when they saw me get the brushes out. Instead, I now use Virbac C.E.T. Enzymatic Oral Hygiene Chews for Cats to help with their teeth. It seems to work well and the cats actually come when they hear the bag rustle.

When you first start using it you will of course ...
When you first start using it you will of course find it difficult. Keep practicing and it will get easier. Even if you don't use any cat toothpaste, your cat will get most of the benefits. Stroke lightly in one direction across the outside of your cat's teeth (their tongue naturally cleans the inside of the teeth because it is rough.) If my vet would have given me any direction at all my cat could have avoided a lot of pain. This brush is much more gentle than the CET brands. The bristles are more effective and gentle to the gums. After I use this brush with nothing on it, I paint brushless enzymatic toothpaste onto my 18.5 yr old cat's gums with a small makeup brush. I tried to get her a dental cleaning but she was refused due to heart issues (which are all being well managed now) but has even more dental issues than what she started with because my vet gave me no direction after the refusal. This keeps any issues away from her other areas and helps me manage things well.

Cats' opinions not included...
I admit that I am a very curious club of cat owners who attempt to brush their cats' teeth - other than cat dental bills and orders from my vet to brush their teeth daily, I would love to exit said club - this is not for the lack of adorable toothbrush holders, cat approved flavored toothpastes, and other accouterments for feline dental hygiene, but rather the experience of wrestling not one but two mountain lions with my bare hands when I so much as raise the tooth brush to their whiskered lips. However, my judgment on the difficulty of trying to brush my cats' teeth is not a referendum on this brush, it would be this way with any toothbrush, gauze, my finger, a lampshade, pretty much anything. The chosen toothbrush just needs to do its job and get me through my daily arm wrestling match as quickly and efficiently as possible. So far, this has been the best bet for quick and efficient Indiana Jones style brushing. I think I've tried every brush on the market, including the long-handled pet toothbrushes that come with the CET toothpaste, the short handled white CET toothbrushes, gauze, finger brushes, etc. While no means a dream, this brush lets me get a swipe of toothpaste in their mouth and move on.I think this brush worked better for my cats because of the narrow profile and the fact it is designed for cats' smaller mouths. The brush head is 3/4 inch by 5/16 and has short, soft bristles. Although they will still be fighting the daily hygiene for years to come I imagine, this at least let me move the goalpost in the right direction.

Good USA made Toothbrush for Cats
I was on the fence ordering this toothbrush, just because the pictures seemed to make the toothbrush appear larger than I wanted, however when the toothbrush came in, I realized it was a perfect size for my cats mouth. 10/10, can't beat a USA made product!

Comfortable for Yorkie with little mouth
I have 2 5 lb Yorkies. This toothbrush works well for the one with a smaller mouth and makes tooth brushing comfortable for him. I also can control the toothbrush well without bumping his gums with the plastic part. Since the bristles are shallow, it does not reach well in between the spaces of the teeth of my dog who has a bigger mouth. (Still works but an infant toothbrush would reach better, but has a higher chance of bumping the gums with the plastic). That's ok though, it works for my smaller mouthed dog and I know this was designed for cats.
