Love these!
I've purchased 2 bpa-free starter sets already and have just purchased another! My son had refused to latch-on since he was primarily bottle-fed while we were in the hospital (I was running a fever for a few days and didn't breastfeed consistently). I tried these when we initially came home but he didn't like them (maybe because using these were more work than the Evenflo nipples we got from the lactation consultant) so I stopped trying. Then after he turned a month old, I decided to try them again since my son was still not breastfeeding and I wasn't ready to give up. This time he was more willing to try the nipples and we started using the stage 1 nipples with the 5-oz bottles exclusively. I'm happy to say now that my son is now breastfeeding easily with every feeding (although I still have to supplement with formula). One of the reasons I'm buying another starter kit is that I was sterilizing two of the 5-oz bottles in the microwave and unfortunately I had put an eyedropper in the sterilizer and when the top melted, it melted against two of the bottles and ruined them (they melted at the point of contact). So I need to replace the 5-oz bottles and I figured it couldn't hurt to have more of the 9-oz bottles so decided to buy another starter kit vs just three more 5-oz bottles.Yes, because of the non-standard wide mouth size, I have to transfer my pumped breastmilk from Medela storage bottles because I can't attach these bottles to the Medela Freestyle pump that I use, but I like the wide mouth - it's great for adding in scoops of formula easily in the middle of the night.I also like the little storage container that comes with the starter kit - I'd buy them if they were sold individually (but haven't found anywhere that I can buy them alone). They're really convenient for storing individual servings of formula and they snap onto the bottoms of bottles. The fact that the sides are flexible mean you can squeeze the container to form a sort of pour spout when adding the formula to the water in the bottle. All in all, I'm really happy that I purchased these although they are pricey comparatively speaking. I think it's well worth the cost though!

Great To Avoid Nipply Confusion
I used these bottles with my son (4 years ago) and had great success with breastfeeding for a year. So I found it again for this little guy and I'm not disappointed. As far as avoiding nipple confusion- it can't be beat. The trick is, the nipple is a "double" layer, and very wide. Requiring the baby to use the whole bottle nipple (not just the tip) to get the milk out.Pros:- Very like breastfeeding, requires baby to work for milk- Kit comes with everything you need for the occasional bottle use- lids, caps, cleaning brush etc...- Easy to cleanCon:- I feel that milk gets wasted everytime between the two layers of the nipple. It kills me to waste that "liquid gold" but it's unavoidable.- Sometimes (because it requires the baby to put the whole bottle in their mouth) it can gag a sensitive baby. But that's kind of the point- they can't have a shallow latch. As far as leaking- I've heard of that happening but had no problems with it personally. The double layer of nipples has grooves all the way around. I wonder if some reviewers perhaps weren't getting the grooves lined up tightly. I can see how every now and then it might leak no matter what you do. But if they're ALL leaking for you... I'm thinking that's the issue.Bottom Line: I won't use this when he's older (I prefer drop-ins for ease of use) but it's great for the first few months to avoid nipple confusion. What more could you want?

Best bottle for our baby
Our baby had lots of problems with gas and we even thought she had colic it was so bad. She is also a really hungry baby and since I was breastfeeding and plan to continue to I wanted a bottle that both prevented extra gas getting in her little belly and preventing nipple preference because believe me, it's real. We were trying everything, Dr. Browns for the gas prevention which worked for that purpose but when she breastfed again she got frustrated because she wasn't getting as much milk as fast and had to work at it more. We also tried the Tommie Tippee which was a joke-not the the breast and gas flowed like the wind and finally we paid a lot for the Medela Calma nipple which not only was expensive it leaked all over her and she the nipple was absolutely nothing like a human nipple, I mean they didn't even try. It was long and weird and really hard plastic. So finally after some more research I found these less expensive and wonderful bottles that mimic the way baby has to latch on and suck to get the milk out and it allows her to start and stop nursing which also allows her to fall asleep while feeding at the end of the bottle because milk wasn't pouring down her throat. I not only recommend this bottle, I have bought it for my cousin with a newborn and my friend with a newborn because it really does work and just because it doesn't cost 50 bucks don't let that fool you, it works. I never leave reviews but this helped my baby and her gas and now she goes back and forth from my breast to the bottle effortlessly and I am a happy Mommy with one less thing to worry about which as we all know is priceless!!
