A good basic guide to getting into great physical shape but not for learning Krav Maga self-defense.
I agree with some of the previous comments made about this book. However, one must take into consideration the real purpose of this book. This book promotes the highly effective Krav Maga Self-Defense System by explaining the various exercises that are part of an over-all program. If you desire to get into great fighting condition and do exercises that relate directly to using Krab Maga techniques, this is a MUST book for you.If you are seeking actual instruction in the various self-defense situations one might encounter on the street, you need to purchase other excellent Krav Maga books on the market. In conclusion, this is a book for anyone who is interested in combat fitness and the Krav Maga approach to learning self-defense. Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Shotokan Karate for Self-Defense: Combat Karate for the street).

I think is a great book beacause it mixes traditional fitnes training with practical self defense conditioning training so you will be ready for a confrontation in the street if necesary. Time limited as we all have this is a must guide to maxime the time spend in functional conditioning from a practical point of view. This kind of trainining also strenghten your fighting spirit or strenghten your mind to never give up upon confronted.

its true, this book isn't going to teach you Krav Maga, but it will give you many different drills to use in your training.

Right away operational
It's simply explained and practical. All the exercises are described in detail, you can't go wrong. You start feeling the benefits of that training in a short time

This book is useless
My expectations was that this book would show you special exercise techniques using special Krav Maga moves. Like in Hee Il Cho's Complete Master Kick's series, or in Dynamic Strength (Dynamic Tension)by Harry Wong. This book is a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. It does not teach you anything you don't already know. For exercises you are better off with what you did in High School Physical Education, or Boot Camp's Physical Training routines. For martial arts training or learning Krav Maga, there are much better instructional books that explain the techniques. Preferably the DVDs demonstrate and explain moves and techniques.

Good workout, sloppy editing
This book provides a number of great workout routines and a solid foundation for further Krav Maga training. It is not a comprehensive guide to Krav Maga technique It is, first and foremost, a guide for physical fitness. I went into this with fitness as my goal, not comprehensive self-defense, and I feel like it met my needs.I do have one glaring issue with the book that other reviews haven't mentioned; it's riddled with mistakes that any competent editor would have caught. For example, there are pictures to accompany descriptions of most exercises. This is very helpful, except that some of the pictures are for completely different exercises than the captions say. Additionally, several of the exercise routines do not give the number of repetitions, or a duration. Occasionally the routines even call for an exercise without explaining what it is. Other times, no page reference is provided so the reader can go look up how to do the exercise. These mistakes are very frustrating at times, and I just wish the editors would have made more of an effort. That said, most of the time I was able to figure out what I was supposed to do with common sense; it just takes a little longer than it should. Despite it's problems, I do recommend the book as a great guide to fitness for those of us without weight rooms, and a good introduction to elementary fighting techniques.

It does what it says.
This is a great guide to developing a fitness regime for Krav Maga at home. It does not pretend to be a guide to Krav Maga techniques.

Excellent Fitness Manual
If you're already in great shape and just want to learn about defending yourself with Krav Maga, there are certainly books better suited for your requirements. For everyone else, however, this is a very useful book. It provides a good understanding of what's important if you want to get (and stay) in shape. The state of fitness you can achieve will certainly a provide a great basis for Krav Maga self-defense. But even if that is not your goal and you just want to be fit and feel good about yourself, this book is a very good starting point. It describes a wide variety of individual exercises and includes beginner and intermediate-level workouts as well various drills and definitely makes for great motivation.
