Generally, it seems, most guides suggest going a size down on cover.In this case it is an 18x18 insert with a 16x16 cover (in black) and the same 18x18 insert with an 18x18 cover, in crème.The 18x18 has enough fill to get into the corners and still be comfortable and pliable.The 16x16 is too full, IMO.It looks bloated.It is also as hard as a rock.Slips out from behind.Perhaps it is the cheap cover, but I think, dimensionally, it is not "right."Did not know that you had to buy an insert(pillow) then buy covers.So, I looked things up.I really like the inserts...hope this is helpful to a 1st time buyer, like I was.5 out of 5 stars.

I ordered some low-cost holiday-themed pillow covers recently and didn't want to spend a lot on the pillows in case the covers weren't of the quality I hoped. I was pleasantly surprised with both the covers and these pillows! They are shipped flat, but poofed up after about 5 minutes in the dryer and have held their shape perfectly after several weeks on my sofa. I can't speak to their sturdiness, because they're only decorative and haven't been laid on, but they fill out the covers perfectly and look beautiful. Considering what I would have paid paying retail for individual pillows, these are a tremendous bargain. I wouldn't hesitate to gift them after putting them in a pillow cover. Great purchase!

These little pillows are great! I almost returned them as they arrived and appeared to be two large bed pillows....be aware that they come in an air tight packing and had I not watched a video of someone unwrapping them I would have returned them! Open the plastic bags and pull apart and you see there are two pillows in each bag making it 4.A perfect size and a great stuffing pillow for my covers.

The instructions inside say that you can either hand-shake the pillows for 5 minutes each, or put them in the dryer. (They come completely flattened/Vacuum-compressed for shipping). I ordered 8 pillows total, and shook the first 2. My arms were tired, and also the filling felt lumpy/clumpy still. I put the rest in the dryer - 2 at a time - for 5 minutes increments, and they came out great!! I eventually put the original 2 in the dryer as well. Enjoy !

Perfect pillowes I put covers on first once out the vacuum seal then I fluffed the which was way easier than the first two I did when I fluffed first then slipped cover on. But pillows have t gone flat yet

12x20 inserts are hard to find and these are the best I've bought. You absolutely have to take the time to fluff them and putting them in the dryer with a tennis ball makes a big difference.

Lovely little pillows. Would get more if I needed them. Squishy but not flat. The size I picked is great, used all four on my sofa and still have all kinds of room on the couch.

...and pun intended...these are great stuffing for my 30 X 50 cm pillow covers. Made with properly sewn, ie no loose threads, nice fabric unlike some cheaper, gauze-like ones from the store. Comes with instructions on how to fluff them up as they arrived squashed flat as pancakes. Mine poofed up within minutes of "clapping" them up and down the length of the insert. Will purchase again if they continue to keep up with the standard.

I like the firm feel of the pillows; it’s just the right firmness - not so soft until there is no support, and yet soft enough to provide the right level of support and comfort.

They arrived quickly but were a bit softer than I was hoping for. Still, not bad value for money.
