Works Great
I use it for short hike/walks to hold a 16.9 oz water bottle. It would work fine with a larger bottle 20+oz. but I don't need anything that large for my walks, and I don't want a big clunky bottle wobbling on my hip. It seems durable, clips tightly onto my belt, and the bottle slides in and out easily. I do have to stop to get it back into the holster -- for me at least it's a two-hand operation, but it only takes a few seconds. Still, if you're hanging from a cliff with only one free hand it could be tough (okay, that's not going to happen anyway).

Excellent Product, Highly Recommended
This handy bottle holder is a durable, easy to use, well designed product. It attaches to the belt so it puts no stress on my back and leaves my hands free for poles. I love it. I have used Spider camera holsters for years... they are always durable and well designed. I have contacted Spider a couple of times with questions-- the responses are detailed, quick and cordial. Five stars for products and five stars for customer service.

Very well made
I like the ease of retrieving n replacing the bottle. The pouch can only hold a16oz water bottle with a 2-1/2” diameter. A regular size 20oz bottle will never fit. I recommend that the pouch would b much better if it holds a 3”dia. Bottle

TOO MUCH MONKEY BUSINESS
This item has no function. It is supposed to clip onto an average-sized belt, hold an average-sized retail bottle of water and provide a "quick draw" of the water bottle from the "holster" - it does none of these things. The clip is very hard to open and does not open wide enough to fit over an average-sized belt. The pouch (holster) is too small to fit over an average-sized retail bottle of water without screwing it in and, once you've screwed the bottle in, you can forget about any sort of "quick draw" when you want a drink. In sum, the water bottle isn't alone in being screwed.

Light and compact
I bought this for my father who needs to take water with him on his long walks, but doesn't want to carry the bottle. He loves to clip everything on his belt, and this was perfect for him! Light as a feather and compact. Keeps the water cold for a long time. Extremely smart purchase!

Great for my daily walk as the temperature rises.
I'm fortunate to have nice walking trails near me. I use them nearly daily and try to do a walk of 3.5-4 miles, as well as other shorter walks during the day.As we move into warmer weather, this helps me easily carry some water and stay hydrated. It's great to be able to press a small button to release the bottle, have a drink, and then snap it back in.It's sufficient for moderate walks of around an hour or so walk with temperatures below 90 F.Be aware that the maximum bottle width is fairly narrow, so make sure your intended bottle will fit.

Worked fine 'till it broke; I was probably carrying too tall of a water bottle in it - a Hydro Flask 24 ounce.
I was really happy with this at first. I wanted something to put my 24 ounce Hydro Flask in so I could carry it along on my belt on my uphill / downhill San Francisco walks. I like the simplicity of the belt clip, and walking with it was just what I wanted- easily supported on my waist, and easily accessible. The flask seemed a bit top-heavy, because a lot of it was sticking out from the top of the holster, but the Spider Monkey tried to accommodate it.Unfortunately, it didn't last. The holster started flexing on the clip, first sideways, then upside down. The holster held onto the bottle tightly, so it didn't fall out. But, eventually, after a few weeks, it twisted around to the point where the holster broke off the clip. It's probably my fault for putting too tall a bottle in it. My Hydro Flask is 2¾" wide, and 12" tall if you count the cap. So it probably was too top-heavy and not appropriate for the Spider Monkey. If I'd carried a standard 12 or 16 ounce water bottle in it, the Spider Monkey probably would have worked out fine.I've got a fabric sling that holds my Hydro Flask, so I can walk with the sling slung over my shoulder, and the flask on my back quarter. It's not as stable and convenient as a good belt-mount device, but Spider Monkey and the other one I tried, the ErgaLogik Waist Pack (Black), have not worked out for me. I'll keep looking.

Fits 20oz cycling bottle
This works great for cycling bottles, I can clip it to my regular waist pack when I need a spare bottle for long rides.
