Cardinal Gates Versagate, Black

First gate arrived with some damage that made it impossible to assemble. A second gate was sent promptly by Amazon, but also arrived with some damaged parts. I would say the quality is fair. We were able to exchange out damaged parts from the two shipments to make one working gate with one bent vertical bar that did not impair the functionality of the gate. So far it is working well in the area designed to keep our dogs contained. This gate DOES need to be wall mounted, as it does not work as a freestanding gate. The gate latch does have plastic parts, so hopefully it will stand up over time with daily use.

Love this gate but slide on locks are plastic didn't have a month and one snapped off but overall a great gate

If you are handy with tools, you can buy the side extensions, cut them with a hacksaw and mount for a custom width install. In our case it was to center the gate at the bottom of a stairway that had an angled bottom step that protruded past the opening (so had to have a curved entrance). The gate is very sturdy if mounted to studs on the wall. I can't count the number of times this gate stopped potential close calls of our toddler wanting to climb the stairs up on his own.We bought a similar adjustable gate from them a well for the top of the stairs too. Also very well constructed. Both locks are simple yet the kid can't open.

Works like a charm. I love the gate part that allows you to enter or to close things off when you need to.

This is one of the best gates that I've found to keep my dogs in their area. The parts are very streamline and sturdy. Not a lot of plastic pieces for bored dogs to chew on and very easy to install and add additional pieces to.

Solid and easy to put up. (Use the plastic mounts that they indicate are optional. They're not really optional unless you want to make it more difficult to put up.)To open the gate you need to open the latch and lift the gate. This is a bit difficult with one hand but allows the gate to work in two modes. You can leave the latch open and just open/close the gate by lifting it. This makes it very simple to open and close. Most dogs still couldn't open it but most kids could. For extra security you need to close the latch.The gate only swings in one direction.

The flexibility this gate offers is superior, you can design it many ways to cordon off even the most difficult areas. The locking mechanism is sturdy.
