Nothing but Problems
I bought this unit and still after 2 separate trips from cannon support cannot get this unit to work. Not sure I'll ever buy a copier from Amazon again. Plus There is no one I can get a hold of at Amazon to get this taken care of.

I love the quality of the print
I love the quality of the print, the ease of replacing toner, drum kits, and waste boxes (which are very expensive and are replaced often), but the service is terrible. Expect to spend 45 minutes on hold when you call the 800 number for repair service and then to be transferred three or four times before reaching someone who can actually help. Expect another couple of days to get someone physically to your office. The repairman walked in and said, "I don't know what they expect me to do," and then left with a promise to call me back later and come back another time with parts. I will think twice before buying another Canon product.

Good quality prints
Bought in June 2016. Good quality prints. Supplied software totally screwed up Corel's Word Perfect suite. Couldn't reinstall WP. Some kind of error. Interface a bit worse than all-in-one Dell I had previously. Always wants to print on both sides. I still can't find the setting to be saved as default so it will print on one side. Will post more after some heavy use.

It does the job
I purchased this Canon printer as an upgrade from an old ImageClass MF6530. The MF6530 has been a work horse for the past 9 years. The MF6530 showed me that Canon builds a quality product. It printed well; the scanning software was easy to use and it organized the scans in folders by date automatically; and it seemed to outlast all of the other printers in the office while printing more in quantity than any of the other printers. I looked at several other brands, but came back to Canon for those qualities. The MF810 is roughly the same width, roughly the same depth, but is a good 7 inches taller than the MF6530. The print quality on the MF810 is excellent, and the color is a wonderful upgrade from the MF6530. However, scanning is much different. The MF6530 came with a program called Canon MF Toolbox 4.9. Overall, the Toolbox was OK, but now I actually miss it. The MF810 does not come with an interface software like that. Instead, if you want to scan to your computer, you either have to program a destination in the printer address book, or choose from another software that you have on your computer (if you have Windows, there is a built in scan interface that is available, but it lacks a .pdf option). Programming a location on the computer or on a network file server is pretty easy, but all of the scans are in the folder/drive without an easily recognizable naming convention. It works, but it takes some getting use to. I do wish that Canon could have updated their MF Toolbox and included that with the MF810 as the existing installation of MF Toolbox does not recognize the MF810.The paper tray on the MF810 is great as it hold a full 500 sheet ream of paper - I cannot understand how so many printer companies build 10,000 duty cycle printers and only allow for a 250 sheet paper tray. Initialization on power up seems a bit slow, but once it is on and operating, it moves into energy saver mode and prints rather quickly from that state.Programming can be done from both the touch screen and the web interface. The actual settings are very similar to other canon printer settings if you have used their web interface in the past. Mainly, it is intuitive, although there are some settings that are off where you do not expect them. The browser based manual will help you locate some of those settings off in obscure places.Overall, I am satisfied with the printer. Be aware that the toners run on the expensive side.*****Update 12/13/2018*****Now that I have had this for a while, there is a quirk about this printer that is very annoying. The toner low warning only gives you a few hours notice. Perhaps it is because of the amount of printing in which is done through this work horse, but it seems like a short warning. Although I go through about 250 sheets in a day, I am the only user for this printer so you would think that the warning would provide more time. The problem is the unit is essentially a brick once a toner is considered empty by the printer. I can shake the toner and know that there is still some in there, but the printer will not print a darn thing. So, if someone else used the last toner in our supply room, then I have a very large plastic show piece on my desk until a new toner arrives. The old MF6530 would continue to work with the warning of low toner and I could keep printing until the type was faded. But the MF810Cdn is basically dead once the printer thinks the toner is empty. I have searched, but not found an override for this to squeeze out additional time for Amazon to deliver a toner even though there still appears to be toner in the cartridge. The same principal applies for a drum - once a drum has hit its perceived life, the unit is just a large heavy object on my desk. With as much printing as I do, being dead in the water and having to re-route my print jobs somewhere else is annoying. Generally we try to keep toners and drums on hand, but not too many as printers tend to die out now and then.
