Better Days

(First of all, this movie does have subtitles) An extremely well acted movie about bullying with a sweet, unconventional love story built in! A drama with China's finest actors; don't miss it if your in the mood to watch heartbreak, triumph and everything in between!

This is a fill "about" bullying carried to Matthew Shepherd lengths and beyond. Some scenes have no oxygen. I felt small, helpless, suffocated. Sometimes it seems anger is what will redeem the situation, breathe life and motivation through force of will to conquer the oppressors.But it's love that centers and endures. Young romantic love. And loyalty. And intelligence. These are the qualities that pull one through and make one root for the trapped protagonists. It's as tragic as Romeo and Juliet, if they were also orphans.This film is made with intense care and precision. This film is about more than bullying. More even than young love navigating the horrors of the adult world.

This movie really surprised me. The actors and the story are very compelling. One of the best films that I have viewed this year. Great performances from the two leads. Gripping for sure. Didn't want it to end. Will watch again. 5 stars.

I initially rented this movie. The reviews by prior viewers really got me curious. I am retired now, but spent many years working on the administrative side of a non-profit agency that provided services to victims and survivors of abuse and assault, so I still have an interest in how these issues might be portrayed. As I noted in the headline, and other reviewers have stated, this is a tough movie to watch at times. This is an issue that exists worldwide, unfortunately. This movie does not "sugar coat" the situation. Just be prepared if you choose to rent or buy, it is not pretty. I bought the BluRay because I anticipate watching it again, and I want to share it with my daughter, who has two school age boys.

I'm literally sitting here frantically trying to figure out how I can show this movie to all of my friemds during a pandemic. Not to be missed. Incredibly powerful.

"Better Days" is a knockout. Brilliantly directed by Derek Tsang and acted by Dongyu Zhou and Jackson Yee , "Better Days" is a Chinese "Rebel Without A Cause". Romantic and tragic.

The subtitles never worked for this film no matter how many times I checked and re-saved settings. I watched about five minutes and had to stop. The Prime interface is not the best for watching movies. I have had subtitle issues before with it. I only come here if there's no other option. Luckily it turns out this movie is also available on Hulu. There should be an option to get refunded, but I guess Amazon really needs my $4 and change.

engaging (sometimes wrenching) plot with convincing performance by a pair of young actors. sound-of-music cheerful it is not. i enjoyed every moment in the script and in the visuals.

“Better Days” is a very hard movie to consume for any parent to see. school bulling.This is a common thing in school today no doubt. bulling of other kids who seem not worthy.of mixing in with others if they’re otherwise shy of to the bully different.I guess when your parents tell you you should stand out. you think they should be blamed. no.it’s just a metaphor that people use to quell a nerve that’s on the brink of self harm.I’ll tell you one thing. the movie is raw in it’s depiction of Violence towards this girl who’s shy.The Ending Is the killer.Runtime 136 Min.Mandarin 5.1 DTS-HD Master. No sabía nada de esta película hasta que me topé de casualidad con el tráiler en YouTube. Me bastó ver un par de escenas de la protagonista Zhou Dongyu, para convencerme de que tenía que ver esta película y disfrutar de su actuación, la cual al final me ha parecido memorable.

Outstanding movie. A must see for its honest brutal effects of bullying on teenagers. Compelling watch from start till finish. Just felt so sorry for the victims in the movie. Moved me to tears.
