Killed my dog! Please do not buy!
Do not under any circumstances buy this! Three months after purchasing, my golden retriever got hit and killed on the road, because the end separated from the cable. He was a 4 year old, 75 lb, mild (wonderful!) dog and this cable never should have done that! People have said, you should write the manufacturer and complain. That won't bring my dog back! Maybe you reading this, will save yours though!

Most definitely strong but not lasting
I needed a replacement cable for my dog & just bought another brand's 15ft tie-out but immediately felt their cable was much too thin & their clips just didn't feel sturdy enough to hold my rowdy 75lb German Shepherd. After much research, I found this Boss Pet product. The cable is definitely THICK & strong & the clips are ultra strong. The clip's style makes it a bit more difficult to put on & take off AND taking it off is the trickier task but after several uses, it truly becomes second nature. UPDATE...It's only been 5 mths & today the line broke off at the stake/anchor end (right at the metal cincher just before the snubber-spring piece that helps your dog avoid breaking her neck). It was a clean break. There's also a break in the plastic cable covering which is midway up the cable & shows rust on the cable. Not good at all! The package states: "Replace after one year of use or when visable signs of wear are evident, whichever comes first." This item didn't even last 6 mths but I still feel better buying this above all the others & will replace it every 4 mths or so just to be safe. Better safe than sorry. Still, a very good product! Update...Bought the 2nd one 06-11-20. I inspect the line daily & yesterday found two breaks in the plastic lining the cable. One break is all the way to the cable. It's only 1.5 mths old. I'm so frustrated! Replaced it immediately as I had a backup line waiting. Better safe than sorry. I'm definitely going to try & contact this manufacturer. Will update here afterwards.

Quality product but customer service is lacking
Item is well made and does the job of keeping a 60 pound Lab in line quite well. The only reason the review is not higher is that this is the second one I had to purchase. The first one had a break where it attached to the collar. Just a bad piece i am sure. I contacted the company selling it and they told me that there was no long term warranty on the item they would in fact do a good faith replacement. I sent them my info and pictures of the break. Unfortunately they did not complete their promise. The lead is good but if you have a problem you are on your own. As you can tell we bought a second one so that says it I guess. And the lead is not an inexpensive item.

Strong Tieout
We have been using this tie-out since April of 19 and so far it is holding up well. It does have a couple of rust spots but that is what happens to metal left outside. Our dog is a 50lb Dalmatian/Pittbull mix and it holds her very well. We have even had to replace her harness where the harness ripped off of her while connected to this tie-out. I talked with a local pet shop on what I could do to keep it from getting worse and the manager said that anything exposed to the elements would be better to get a pet safe gloss clear coat and brush it on evenly once a year.

Great Chain
My monster of a German Shepherd is only 80lbs but has the pulling power of a 200lb dog it seems. He goes thru 2 of these chains a year. This chain last longer than anything else we have found. I wish the opening device was a little easier to use but my husband usually drills a hole thru it and installs a thumb screw of some sort to make it easier for me.

A life saver!
I read the reviews about the clasp being difficult and that is EXACTLY why I bought this. On more than one occasion, my girl has rolled around in the grass and unhooked the clasps on the traditional tie outs. Luckily, I never leave her outside alone and had been able to re-hook her before she even noticed she was loose. The clasp on this tie out prevents these sorts of accidents since it has to be pulled out to unhook. I feel a lot more confident with her in the yard..still don't leaver her alone, but I don't bite my nails when she wants to roll around.

Pull forward to open clasp - keep scrolling for something better
I freaking hate the clasp on this thing! Had I known the clasp was a pull forward to open style, I never would have purchased. I used this for one week and then threw it away. I have RA and this is not a user friendly clasp style, so I ended up having to use two hands to attach it to my dog’s collar which is a no-go.

Durable as can be
Pretty heavy duty for a pup but she's growing into it. She chews everything and has yet to make it through the plastic coating around this cable let alone to the braided metal. I leave it outside and it shows no sign of rust in spite of 1 month of straight rain. It is heavy and I would say the minimum weight for a dog using this comfortably would be around 30lbs.
