Q: Does it keep the headboard from hitting wall during intimacy?

It adheres to both the back of headboard and the wall thus preventing the headboard from banging the wall!

Q: My bed's in front of a large sliding window that doesn't open or go anywhere. Could I use these against a window or would it likely damage the window?

I would not use them against a window. I’m pretty sure that they will break the window at some time. Beds and their frame move much more than most realize. I would put a sheet of plywood across the window and and rest the headboard stoppers against it….as discreetly as possible.
