Power floated concrete floors traditionally have to completely dry out before you can overcoat them, which can mean a waiting time of 28 days or more. By using Dampstop as a damp-tolerant primer, this waiting time can be reduced to as little as 8 days. Acting as a high-grade damp proof membrane, this quality moisture suppressant works well on concrete and sand/cement screeds in commercial settings such as factories, showrooms, and warehouses, and also in domestic garages and concrete floors located in building extensions. Along with allowing you to add epoxy floor paints on newly laid floors, this epoxy primer prevents any residual dampness in the concrete from rising up to the surface and spoiling your finish. As well as treating floors, you can also use this mixture to coat total immersion internal water tanks. Please note that Dampstop is not suitable for portable water tanks. Each 5kg pack is sufficient to treat up to 4m2 (3.5m2 for the first coat) and is dry enough to apply an overcoat in as little as 14 hours. Available in numerous colours, we strongly recommend using a different colour for each coat so you can accurately judge the thickness of the coverage of the coating. Dampstop can be left as a standalone finish if 2 coats are applied. Application: Can Be Poured in Patches onto the Floor and Squeegeed Out, Finishing Off with a Roller Drying Times: Tack-Free Time @ 20oC: 6 Hours, Hard-Dry Time @ 20oC: 14 Hours Dampstop should be applied in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
