Too Beautiful
You can read the entire book easily, but not as hauntingly beautiful as this illustrated book. I feel lucky to have found such a book as this and I adore the style of the drawings. Amazing. I would give more stars if I could.

Accessible and just enough gruesomeness!
I have been teaching Frankenstein by Mary Shelley for 9 years now, and the reading itself is a barrier to many students, as is the thick British accent of many of the audiobook readers. This version makes an important story into an easy read. The art is fantastic, too, and emphasizes the gothic elements to add that gruesome feel to the whole scenario. Creepy enough to interest, but still not gratuitous. I'm trying to find money to by a classroom set now!

Amazing Illustrations
I'm in love with Gris Grimly's work. I homeschool, and used this and his Edgar Allen Poe books for some fun Halloween reading. What a great way to introduce kids to classic writers. Grimley uses selections from the original text, interspersed with illustrations. The book starts with several letters without illustrations. My kids and I really needed to power through these letters; we were certainly rewarded with a great read once we got through the boring letters. I've bought a bunch of Grimley's other books. I hope he and other talented artists continue to illustrate classic books with the original text.

lovely, I loved it the first time I read it, and the second time. ive always love the original book, I never felt films and shows did this story justice, but this, this is perfect. this took a whole different approach to victor, and the creature. gothic and very beautiful

Wow!!! 5 Stars
Wow! Wow! The graphics are awesome! I love the size of this book. I also love that Gris Grimly did not change Mary Shelley's text, making it easier for me to use this in our homeschooling. My son gets all the wonderful graphics, as well as, the wonderful story! A plus. I will be buying more of author Gris Grimly's works. Some of the art, I want to pull out and frame, however, I just don't want to ruin the book!

I've always loved Frankenstein, and I've loved Gris Grimly since reading ...
I've always loved Frankenstein, and I've loved Gris Grimly since reading his illustrated Poe stories. The two combined were magnificent! There were certain parts of the text that were illustrated, so it's actually a bit abridged, but the illustrations pretty much get the point across. My preference would have been to read the text in its entirety, but I don't think it will take away too much for most people.

Wow - who'd have thunk it.....
Gris Grimly's adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is fabulous. Richly drawn and inclusive of all the ephemera and curios that define Grimly's work, this was a blast to read. As is the case with many graphic novels, I read this whilst reading four or five other novels, but kept returning to this and picking up where I left off. A lot of fun. Doing Poe next,...
