The kettle has worked well this past month, but the spout is poorly designed and can lead to spillages if you don't pour very slowly

The lid doesn't close securely. The filter is just a cheap but of plastic, not actually there to filter anything. Doesn't pour without spilling due to the poorly designed lid.

I bought this to replace a 6 year old Daewoo kettle which has been used dozens of times everyday, that hasn’t yet died but has started switching itself on. After 6 years of really good reliable service I wanted to replace with another Daewoo. I read the reviews & thought maybe ppl were being a bit over dramatic as my daewoo experience had been really good. OMG was I wrong! The kettle doesn’t sit solidly on the small round edged base it rocks dangerously around like it’s a weighted knock about child’s toy. This is slightly better when filled to the max level but even then still very loose. The lid didn’t shut properly it sits at an angle above the top of the kettle so hovers a fair bit above the side where the spout is. Therefore when the steam rose it escaped out of the kettle all the way round the lid & ran down the outside of the kettle. When I poured out the water it did the same instead of coming out the spout it came out of approx 180 degrees of the lid. The lid not fitting causes both the steam & the pour problems. The build quality & design is nothing like my original Daewoo kettle. It feels very flimsy with really thin plastic & is probably why it weighs less. The handle is also badly designed, as well as thin plasticy; the balance when it’s full doesn’t feel right; you feel less in control of the kettle when you lift it. Of less importance is that the steam on the insides of the kettle NEVER goes away! The kettles is empty but the sides just remain steamed up. After days of non use I had to wipe out the steam from the inside of the kettle with kitchen towel just so I could pack it up & return it! For 6 years of using a Daewoo glass kettle non of the above have I ever experienced. I have now returned & bought a replacement in a shop so I could check stability on the base & the lids as I believe these two things were the most dangerous elements with this kettle. I have spent £5 more on a Russel Hobbs which has non of the aforementioned issues. It is still not the quality of my old Daewoo but at least it is not dangerous as it sits on the base without rocking about, the lid closes properly so steam doesn’t emit all round the lid & water pours from the spout not out of 180 degrees of the lid! Which I would never have thought was too much to ask of a kettle! I would report to safety standards office if it wasn’t too difficult a procedure so instead I warn prospective buyers - DO NOT BUY! I have only given 1 star because I can’t seem to submit a zero star. I have videos but can’t seem to post them either at the moment will try later to add

Bought in October 2024. Descaled a few times because of hard water. March 2025 it stopped working. Checked obvious ie dues. Still dead. Unbelievably not good enough
