This is an excellent heater unit! The price is higher than some, but it has several very good things going for it:1: It is a USA made product for which local service/parts are available, if ever needed.2: It really does look good, is not too large or heavy, and does not take up a lot of space. (Very well made!)3: It does not get real hot, so fire safety and child safety are much less of a concern.4: It has NO moving parts to break, wear out, or fail quickly on it. (A very good thing too.)5: It relies on convection instead of a fan to distribute the heat into the room. (No fan to quit on you.)Most people are NOT really aware of electrical concerns when looking for a portable electric heater. This one stays under the level of power use that would cause one to have to be concerned about overloading your circuit breakers..... that sure does matter. This unit, at the high power setting only requires 12 amps @ 120VAC. However, if you are going to use this in a front room, or possibly a bedroom setting be aware that your home may be wired with only 15 amp wiring and a 15 amp circuit breaker; this fact would mean that for continuous use, this is the ONLY thing you want to have plugged into that circuit. Do NOT plug any heater of 5 KBTU or more into your bedroom or livingroom circuit, then turn on a couple of room lamps and a TV as well. Plan to never load a circuit to more than 80% of it's rated continuous current. So, a 20 amp branch circuit should NEVER be run for long periods of time over 16 amps total load, nor a 15 amp at over 1440 watts. Example: You take this unit on high, 1500 watt setting which uses 12 amps (as opposed to the "low" 1000 watt switch setting). Then add a 100 watt light bulb in two night stand lamps, plus you have the TV in your room which takes 250 watts for a total of 450 watts of extra power all in the same room added to the heater which, at 12 amps = 1440 watts..... total load = 1890 watts. If your bedroom has all the outlets on one 15 amp panel breaker (many/most do), then 15 amps= 1800 watts MAX load short term; @ 80% = 1440 watts. You will blow the breaker, and possibly risk overloading and over heating the circuit itself. Some of the larger heaters are full load, by themselves, even on a 20 amp circuit (like the small appliance circuit in most kitchens). So do use these with wisdom. As a State Licensed Master Journeyman Electrician of over 20 years, I do caution you with all electrical appliances to not overload and blow circuit breakers over and over, it can lead to panel damage and even a house fire. This is not meant to say do not use these, fore I am also using one.... right? :-) Just do it wisely, and use it right, and it will serve you well and safely. I hope this helps someone be safe. BEST HEATERS!!! I bought two of these heaters for my 3 seasons room which is about 12 X 25. That room has floor to ceiling windows all the way around and while it is extremely beautiful it is also extremely cold in the winter. I placed a heater at each end of the room and on the weekend I will turn the heaters on about 10am, I will close the doors that lead to the house and by 12:30 I will walk in and the room is completely warm. So much so that I then leave the doors that lead to the house open, making the 3 seasons room a continuation of my kitchen and family room. I LOVE THESE HEATERS!! I can finally sit in my beautiful room without feeling cold.

It works great I ran it on hi and the smell went a why after about 2 hours I hope still work as good after awhile

I do not have central heat and air in my home so I bought these heaters for my kids rooms. They are fantastic! They dont get hot, so if the kids touch them they dont burn themselves. They are easy to operate, though I unplug everytime I leave the house to go to work as the light does not go off when you turn the heater to the off position. The bedrooms are about 140sf and it takes about 30 min to warm up in the room when we get home everyday. I have had the heaters plugged in for 3 or 4 days at a time and still the casing stays warm to the touch. Running these heaters everynight in November, December and January so far, it has cost about $65.00 a month for both heaters on the electric bill. I plan on buying 3 more for the rest of the house.

It arrived bumped in the box so the high low button only works on high.I want a replacement because it is super quiet and warm but I wouldn’t heave it on high overnight . I would like fully functional settings.

When I opened the box, I found the heater bent a little, and coming apart. That was small stuff compared to what awaited me when I plugged it in! Out came an awful odor, and on came three of my smoke alarms! The choking smell is beyond my ability to endure, so at this moment the heater is in the garage on high, heating and stinking up the garage for what the instructions say "3 hours for the smell to go away"! I have had many space heaters, and all gave off a new smell for a few minutes, but three hours is nonsense! I had high hopes for this thing, for it is "Made in USA". Had I kept the box, I would have returned it. I can only hope it clears off the smell and I can bring it in the house. So far, not so good. -(Two days later now)-I emailed the company, and got a response, but the thing still has a smell, though less now. Sadly though, it heats very poorly, and unless it is used in a small room, it is useless. I consider it money not well spent. There are numerous heaters that are less money, and throw out far more heat. Like one reviewer, I am putting this on the "useless shelf" in the garage!

Come on people. Stop writing reviews that are not realistic. You almost stopped me from buying this. It's a heater that does what it's supposed to. Of course it makes noise...It's not more noise than any other mechanical device...It's supposed to make noise. :) The noise is not even enough that you should write about it! My brand new home with forced air heating makes a ton of noise...That also is supposed to make noise. BTW, very easy to operate and reacts quickly.

I read a lot of reviews about “smell” issues. I bought it anyway. I am SOOOOO glad I did!! It’s PERFECT!! Yes, the first time I turned it on it stank to high heaven...but that’s to be expected with hot versus dust, shipping materials, factory burning etc. Best suggestion is either start it up with windows open or outside. After the initial burn off (about 1/2 hour), the stench led way to amazing warmth...FAST! Nothing derogatory to say at all about tge efficiency, functionality and amazing heat output!
