Needs Longer Screws but Pretty Cool 👌
These are made fairly better than most of these child locks. The anodized ones don't scratch as easy as the painted ones but they can scratch especially the plate area. Thats what these things are CHILD LOCKS.These would be a fairly descent security lock IF THEY CAME WITH LONGER SCREWS. The screws that come with these look pretty and have a good thickness to them but they are too short. They only screw into the trim. You need longer screws that actually go into the frame and you've got a pretty cool looking security lock.Installation can be quick n easy IF YOU HAVE A SIGNIFICANT GAP. I read the reviews saw install videos and no one tells you that on some doors like mine yeah it fit and had enough gap just sliding the lock into place BUT when you go to open it the door catches and rubs on it.I could only mount one of these quick n easy the other 3 I had to chisel away and if you've not chiseled before it looks fairly easy but it will be uneven and you will have splits. Get some good sharp chisels. I used some cheaper ones from lowes and it worked OK but not as well as when I used some cobalt ones. You may think you only need to chisel a little bit but you need to chisel just a little deeper so the door doesn't catch on it when you open the door. I don't like have exposed wood so I'm going to chisel a little more and paint then install the locks.Installation takes some time if you have to chisel. The one that I installed that did not require chiseling took about 10min. The other 3 that required cutting took 2 hours to do 3 of them. The problem comes when you haven't chiseled enough. The lock looks flush and great but when you go to open and close the door it gets caught and rubs. Also for some people who say the lock is too hard to latch open n shut they may have installed it to deep. These aren't bad but they need longer screws to be taken seriously and if you don't want to chisel and possibly ruin your door trim you may want to think again. But you can do it. Makes a little mess and requires patients to get the chiseling right.

Easy Cheap & Convenient
There are no doubt sturdier, more secure solutions, but for the low cost and convenience it's hard to beat. The directions leave much to be desired -- nowhere did it show or tell how the thing works! The swiveling head pulls out or away from the mount that you attach to the door jamb, and that unlocks it so you can swivel it out of the way. The one we got was well made, and doesn't require much effort at all to pull the head towards the center of the door to unlock it, and then swivel it out of the way. [Maybe they lowered the spring tension compared to an earlier version, because we can't see how anyone would have problems -- my disabled husband doesn't have much hand strength at all.]The directions say to use a 1/8" drill bit for the mounting screw pilot holes. Assuming you can use the same drill to screw the screws in, that's too big. Some reviewers talk about using longer screws... for that to be useful, assuming the aluminum(?) lock doesn't snap before the door jamb breaks, the door jamb would need to be right up against, or reasonably close to a stud, which is not always the case. And if there's a small gap -- with our ft. door it's ~1/2" -- the pilot hole needs to penetrate that stud, and you have to be careful not to push the door jamb away from the stud, or pull it in towards the stud.

Best Reinforcement/Safety lock you buy
We had to replace the reinforcement locks on our exterior doors because I don't pay attention to them being locked and have ripped all of the chains right off the door. The metal slides were an upgrade but I still cause damage because of how much play they have in them. These things are solid and allow no movement of the door in any way. I grab the door and go to open it and it doesn't even budge, I know the lock is engaged, pop it open and go. A brilliant solution that keeps my babies from wandering outside without supervision, easy enough that the big kids can use it, and strong enough that I don't break it.

Door Security Devices
These security devices are awesome. After I installed my first one ended up purchasing two more. They are great and also look great. The black one and bronze are even nicer.

Strong hold, need better screws
I bought these after someone started randomly kicking on doors in my neighborhood. There are many product brands, and I thought being from Amazon, the product can't be too bad. To my surprise, it worked very well.Pros:1. Felt very strong, tried to push the door in, and with this in lock position and no door lock, I couldn't push in the door at all even leaning against the door2. After a few month, the exterior is still quite shiny3. Didn't have a make a notch on the door frame, the leaf is thin enough to not need it4. The rubber on the bottom prevents it from beingCons:1. The included screws are way too short. I bought a bunch of 3-inch deck screws instead, and it felt much more solid than the included screwsOverall, I'm very happy with the purchase, now I sleep better at night knowing my front door is secure, now I just need to secure my other doors and windows.

Feel safe now
My parents had these on their doors and even though we live in a safe neighborhood, you can never be too sure. We added one of these to our front door. My husband installed it without too much trouble. I have peace of mine using it each night.

Brilliant
These are simple, effective and brilliant to use day to day. I have on the front and back door as a dead bolt as well as on the master bedroom. These are 100% worth the money and the mechanism is very strong. Better than a conventional dead bolt
