Overview of mainly American fascination with Polynesian art and culture and the kitsch products Americans produced to express it.Very good value,as always from Taschen.Paperback sized but HARDBACK with 600 pages.Plenty of info and illustration/photographs.Recommended.

Very nice hard cover book great vintage photos and filled with great historical facts

This book is filled with amazing historical reference photos, descriptions and narrative for all things TIKI culture.My only gripe is that for every section of writing in English, there's a subsequent translation into German & French. For every... chapter. I get that from a printing angle that made economical sense, but for the reader it's annoying.The saving grace is that even though there are so many extra pages to accommodate 3 versions of all the text, that offered more room for even more photos to enjoy... even if the accompanying text on many pages is irrelevant (whichever language that may be for you).That's not enough for me to take a star away from the rating. This is still a fabulous book that fans of TIKI culture must own.Highly recommended. Cheers
