Adobe Photoshop CC Classroom in a Book 2015 Release

Failure to disclose that this book is identical in every way to the 2014 release, which can be bought a lot cheaper. The new updates to CC 2015 are not included in this edition. The illustrations are identical to the 2014 edition as well. Adobe should be more transparent. This ended up as a waste of time, and I returned to the Book to Amazon, since I have the 2014 edition.

It's a survey book, so it covers a lot of ground. That's both good and bad. Good: it provides insight into Photoshop's capabilities. Bad: It tells you settings to change without providing any real understanding of why that particular setting does what you want and how varying that setting more or less would have been less effective. Which means, when faced with your own situation, you need to find something similar in the book (sometimes difficult) and then try to apply the stated fixes to your issue. Now that I have an understanding of what the program can do, I need a much better guide to help me understand how to apply Photoshop to my specific needs.It's a lot of money for a survey book that was out-of-date when I bought it. (Which meant that the tools were not always in the same place or used exactly the same way as the current model of Adobe CC -- a potential problem when Adobe makes continuous updates.) And errata sheet would have been very helpful and reduced much frustration.The approach using downloaded files was excellent.

I am not at all happy with this book. I don't like the setup nor do I like the thin cheap paper the book is printed on. The illustrations are very muddy and some of them bleed through to the opposing page. I certainly would not recommend this book as a instruction for Photoshop CC.

What a great book! The step by step guide helped me to learn aspects of Photoshop that I didn't even know existed. Be sure to download the lesson files that are included with the book on the website. I loved working with this book. It was fun and informative. It's a basic overview of all of the photoshop features. I did find that some of the lessons had aspects that weren't included in the current photoshop towards the end of the book. If you want to learn photoshop techniques then this is the book for you. I loved it so much I keep it beside my desk as a reference.

Great deal especially if you want to save a little money on your Photoshop education. The latest version is always a bit more expensive than one or two back, but changes are really not all that big. It taught me a TON of stuff I didn't know. Great book. NOTE: NEVER buy this book used, because you need the code in the back to get access to the website classroom. Always buy it new.

For my granddaughter class in college. It's fine and great you can rent the books instead of buying books you aren't going to use again

I am new to Adobe Photoshop so this is the first book I have used. I purchased this a number of months ago and now that I have made it through the book I feel like I can more adequately review this manual. Because I am trying to teach myself how to use the program I need everything broken down to basics. This book does exactly that. It may not be suited for those who are well versed in the program as it may be too basic. It was easy to take everything step by step and chapter by chapter. The concepts were clearly illustrated and taught. I am by no means an expert but I now know my way around the program.

I love this book - it definitely deserves five stars. It goes over everything from basic opening of the program down to how to do 3D images. The "courses" are excellent and very simple to understand. I often refer back to this book when I can't remember how to do something.

This book is ideal for a beginner who, like me, has been completely baffled by the mystery that is Photoshop. I downloaded the free trial of the CC version a while ago and gave up as I just couldn't understand how to do anything. But as the Adobe programs are the industry standard, I decided I really needed to learn Photoshop, so reinstalled it and played around, again I was completely lost. Lots of people have advised watching videos on You tube etc, and yes, it is possible to learn from those, but for me, I wanted a structured, start from the beginning kind of learning course.That's where this book comes in. It really is like being in a classroom, as each chapter is a lesson (or lots of lessons really). With the book comes the opportunity to download lesson files, and these really are crucial to the method of learning. Rather than just reading about the various functions of PS, this book teaches them in the most practical way, you use the starting photograph you've downloaded from the lesson files to achieve an edited end result, following step by step, click by click instructions.I've only completed the first few chapters so far but felt compelled to write a useful review as I'm so impressed. My understanding of Photoshop has increased drastically already and I have learnt so much that I never would have picked up just from playing around with it or watching videos.The book covers a wide range of topics, such as the work area, cloning, selection tools, layers, flattening and saving files, masks, moving and deleting objects, adding text, camera raw, merging photos to replace faces, and much much more. It also has a chapter on editing video, although as a photographer that bit doesn't interest me.So far I have worked through the chapters completing the lessons and this practical step by step learning has really helped. Where before I was just lost, now I am starting to grasp it, I'm sure it will be a long learning process even after completing the book, but there is so much to learn and understand in here that it is a great basis from which to start. I have watched a couple of videos too, and I actually understand them now that I'm starting to learn the basics from the beginning. Don't be fooled into thinking it will only teach you the basics though, there is some fairly complex and advanced stuff in here too, but as it's all broken down bit by bit, it's really easy to follow.Very highly recommended.

Whilst being very useful for beginners I have to say most of the instructions in the lessons are clear however in a couple of lessons there are definitely some errors on procedures. I went through one lesson in particular several times and whilst getting similar results to the book I was still befuddled my working process was different to the one in the book even thoughI followed instructions very carefully.

The perfect book for anyone trying to get to grips with using Photoshop. I bought it as a gift for a couple of people with basic skills and who will need it to recap and develop further. I'm quite the pro on Photoshop and I also learnt new things reading through the book. I'd say it's a good book for most, from beginners up to fairly high level users.

i really couldn't give this book a rating because because the lesson file already been use my someone else, so i can't use the book how i wanted to, if u know someone that have the lesson file it would help me a lot
