Good price means remanned in China but it works
OK, so did I expect it to be rebuilt in the U.S. for this price? in a word - NOPE. But I grabbed the rehabbed AC Delco sparky-doohickie for less than $44 all in. In order to pop it in in my 1967 Pontiac GTO (which was listed as NOT compatible) all I had to do was clock it (i.e. rotate the back housing to put the connectors in the correct position for the car - see online vids). That saved me about 20 bucks from the one that was listed for the car - no real difference. The item was clean and presentable and came in a good box that showed the offending different place of rebuild. The listing makes it look like the refit is done in America, but it is not - unless there is some place called Chinamerica along the Yangtze. Anyway, it works and time will tell. I am saving my original for later to rebuild and keep the old Goat original. That rework will end up costing me more in parts than this one but the car is well worth it.It should be noted that the housing was sand/bead blasted so hard that the information stamped on it was virtually obliterated. A bit poor form but not unexpected at this price point.

Such a disappointment.....
For years I knew AC/DELCO has a premium American made brand.... it's not anymore. The first thing I noticed was the "remanufactured in China" sticker. Then when installing I noticed the threads in the adjuster bolt hole were a bit loose and they stripped out as soon I started tightening the bolt... I had to install a Heli-coil to finish the job. It's sad to see another iconic American brand go down the tubes.

It Should Work
It is the older model alternator with the "external" voltage regulator, so one must purchase "two" items; however, if the voltage regulator is the most "failure prone" part, this way one has only one part to replace, and it is the "external" part. This may be flawed logic, but it works for me. In another fitment of the same components, the alternator(also rebuilt) has lasted almost 50 years, yet the voltage regulator has been replaced four times.

Fit only with modifications..
Amazon said this fit a 1965 Rambler with a 232 engine. Out the box it does not. The bottom mount is longer than the Motorola I took off. I had to modify the Rambler lower bracket and get a longer bolt. I had to use the fan off the Motorola alternator and put it on this Delco. The Delco fan was too big and would hit the top bracket. After the modifications, at least it works. I am a former Master Auto Technician from years past. I was able to re-wire as needed for this internal regulator Delco (I like that). The only reason for the 3 stars is that it did work and I could not find an external regulator Motorola anywhere.

worked great on the old tractor
Took a chance and got one from Amazon's warehouse, one fin had to be bent back into position after that it functions great, it is a good refurbished alternator operates as it should.
