Internet Safety for Kids and Young Adults

PARENTS BEWARE!!!!! Portrayal of book “teaching” safety while being sneaky in tactics to lure and peek teen curiosity to specific sexual sites and explaining how it works!! NOT RECOMMENDED!! ESPECIALLY FOR TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS!! APPALLING!!

I ordered this for my pretty mature/advanced 10 1/2 year-old. I assigned him 10 pages to read per day and then give me an overview of what he read. I thought the book did a good job of dividing the subject matter into chapters and providing succinct, but useful information. My son especially liked the stories about real people and I think this made the material come alive for him.

Great for folks who need to understand the basics. I do talks for parents on safety for kids on the internet. I like reference material I can direct people too that is concise, affordable, and easily read. The statements must be accurate and documentable from my point of view, but presented to readers in a way that they don't have to read through a bunch of what some may see a gobbledegook. This book gives the basics in a way that people can understand. I prefer Kindle editions so I have the different books I recommend always on hand, but have a few used copies that I can lend (not Amazon purchases, although they can be found here.) It is one of several that I use like this, I also use A Cybercop's Guide to Internet Child Safety (Klinkhart) to the same degree.
