great laser
excellent laser! I have used PLS 180, PLS3, PLS5, Dewalt cross hair, Bosch cross hair, Hilti 4 point.... anyway I've extensively used a lot of different lasers. I do custom glass and mirror work. Mostly custom heavy glass showers and mirror so things have to be pretty perfect or your stuck under a mirror. This laser preforms very well. Bright enough and has a lot of features so it was able to replace my bosch cross hair and hilti point lasers. Only thing that i wish it did better is get the horizontal line closer to the housing when setting it on the ground, but most cross hair lasers have the same problem. the range and visibility are excellent though.

Works great
Very good bright indoor level. Not too visible outside in the sun but I do like this level. I had a porter cable for over 20 years & it finally died so went looking for a new laser. My old one just the level & vertical points so I really like the way this one does the lines & also the right angle points. Good laser.

The magnet definitely sticks
Purchased this laser a few months ago for some commercial work. It has laid out top and bottom track, plumbed studs and doorframes leveled headers and set ceiling height. Also has come in handy for setting beam heights on a new house, drop tile ceiling grid, and squaring a form for a poured in place stage when the back wall was discovered to have a massive whip to it. It has worked around PLS, Stabila, Bosch, and Dewalt lasers and held its own quite well. I wish it did point to point 90 instead of the line but that does remind me of another task this laser handled well- laying out the grid for commercial carpet squares. Even at a range of 60 feet+/- and in full light I was able to set the lead carpet guy on his merry way in a short minute. Granted carpet tiles aren't always perfect and do allow some play but I came back to check on his progress(really just to see how good a line my laser gave him) and he hadn't budged from line and the edge cuts were consistent. The line could be thinner- Stabila looks like piano wire in comparison. But I usually mark or reference the center of the line anyway. Same goes for the dot, although it changes drastically with lighting and the type of surface you're shooting to. As always though just go to your center.Speaking of- the target card works well, as does its magnet attachment for ceiling grid. HOWEVER!! The marked measurements (1", 2", 1/2 etc) only work from the center target line. I discovered this when I leant mine to someone doing grid in a large room with several installers using PLS targets. His mains were sagging a quarter inch low in the middle of the room and thankfully someone spotted this before things got out hand. I measured down from the magnet and stenciled my own #s from that point (on mine it is a quarter " difference). Maybe I should have watched the video or read the instructions but that is a goofy mistake on Makitas part to not have the scale read from both directions.I wish it werent to inconspicuous, this thing got soccer kicked by accident because in a dark building it doesn't exactly stand out. My wife works with me on volunteer construction and she has several times needed to stand guard over it. That being said it has handled the unintentional abuse well, so far no problems. All in all this laser has a good all around application. No laser package that I could find is "complete", they all have limits to their uses or features but the Makita comes closest to what I need. The four stars are just for the sometimes ultra-wide dot and the goofup with the target. I'm happy with it.P.S. to the top reviewer, not sure what you tried to stick this too but my wall mount worked fine, even with a shaky steel stud wall from all the people on the roof. I took it down to avoid the risk but it wasn't budging.

Sweet!!!
Best laser level I've ever used .. I dropped it from about 12ft in the air off of a scissor lift first week I had it And not a scratch. I Dropped my hilti from a 6ft step ladder and now it will no longer level out the laser .. great product helps alot with hanging ductwork

Love it.
Used on site for months and batteries are still good. Accurate, easy to use, and sturdy construction. My only side note is I wish they the makita tripod were easier to find. They work perfectly together but finding one was not easy.

Best laser ever
Best laser ever! I use it in the plumbing trade. It works great for plumbing vertical and horizontal runs. All my plumbing looks straight and plumb. I've bought two and two others guys have bought one as well because they liked the laser so much.

If it does not initially work
Mine arrived this morning so I have not yet used it in any project but have quickly tested it. On inserting the batteries and pressing the power button it would not work, I confirmed that the batteries were inserted correctly. I then noticed that one of the springy terminals that is supposed to connect to the negative end of the battery was completely flat and not making a connection. You could see the battery was loose when compared to the others. So i used a nail file to pull the terminal out slightly after which it worked a treat. The laser is easy to use and powerful. The instruction manual is on a disc but is easily accessible on line.

Sehr guter Laser
Der Laser von Makita SK 103PZ leuchted sehr stark und ist gut zu erkennen. Die Linie ist nicht zu breit (ca. 2mm) und exakt im Lot bzw. in der Waage. Sehr gut verarbeited und robust.
