Great product. Not quite as beefy as they used to be, but still works well for its intended purpose.

I’ve used this system before and it’s preformed as planned, very durable and practical solution, but on the pricey side. But I know I’m getting a well made product.

I just finished ejecting all the bulky and fairly low quality freestanding shelves from my garage workshop in favor of these Knape & Vogt / John Sterling wall mounted shelf standards and brackets. I'm writing this review in the 14 inch galvanized double bracket listing, but I also purchased matching standards (the rails these fit into) as well as the shorter 10 inch brackets which I used as well. There are definitely cheaper options, but I looked at a few of those and wasn't impressed with the thin construction I was seeing. These are not massively heavy duty industrial grade shelf brackets, but they are accurately manufactured, consistent and rock solid after installation. Being able to customize the position of the shelves with good granularity is a huge benefit, and once you install the a shelf on top of the bracket, the bracket is sort of locked in place by the shelf itself. In order to remove the brackets you have to tip them upward, which you can't do with a shelf in place. So I'm not worried about these popping loose in an earthquake (California problems). I'm storing a decent amount of lumber on these and a few other heavy odds and ends, and everything feels rock solid. You'll notice in the photos that I modified a few of these to be shorter--I cut them down with a ferrous metal rated saw and added a new screw hole. They are thin enough that this was pretty easy to do, but they still feel very sturdy due to the high profile of the brackets. The only problem I had with these was screwing in the shelves from below the brackets. It's REALLY tricky to get a screw positioned correctly inside that deep bracket profile. I'm not sure what kind of solution I'd propose for that...it seems like a limitation of the construction / design, but you'll need a long driver bit and a driver with a light on it to line the screws up. I got it done, but there was some swearing and a few dropped screws. Drilling a through-hole with a counterbore in your shelf material to allow for bolting in with machine screws instead of wood screws would work better. Overall, loving this system and been using in for a few months. Pardon the mess in my photos...I'm still organizing and there are a lot of random doo-dads on the shelves now. But, they're making my life easier, which is the point!

The only shelving I ever use for garage and storage.

Adding to an existing Sterling Double Bracket. Originally using some 300lb rated brackets that have the angled support bar. I like these since they don’t waste as much space underneath, but I loose some of the support; these are rated at 100lbs. I have to watch my loading to insure I’m under. They seem to work well; they fit the double brackets just fine. No issues with the order or delivery.

I will buy more of these when I can but since I live on a fixed income John Sterling and his Fast-Mounts will have to wait for their turn at the money bowl.
