Like many, I tend to be brand loyal. Since my 30s I have counted on Tylenol to take care of my occasional headaches and other minor pain. And it did a great job.Now, however, I'm 18 months away from my 70th birthday. Over the last decade I have acquired osteoarthritis in my spine, complete with two compressed discs and bone spurs. And over the past few months I've been plagued with hip bursitis, which is very painful -- so much so my doctor wrote me for a prescription painkiller.Over the years I've been lucky with my health, so the serious chronic pain I've been experiencing lately is very disturbing and has cast a cloud over my life. Walking my dog, which used to be a pleasant diversion, is now a necessary evil. A good night's sleep is but a memory. Much of the enjoyment of the small things in life has gone.Ever loyal, I upgraded to Tylenol's stongest version, their arthritis product. It helped my current problems not at all. So I did some research and discovered that Aleve's active ingredient not only relieves pain longer than Tylenol but is more effective at reducing inflamation -- a large component of bursitis pain.Further research informed me that Aleve's Liquid Gels are preferred by more patients for serious pain.So here on Amazon I ordered a bottle of Liquid Gels plus a bottle of Aleve's sleep formula. They arrived today.As instructed, for my very first dose i took two Liquid Gels. That was about three hours ago. I was in severe pain at the time and had an afternoon of running errands ahead of me. I promised myself that when I got home I would go directly to bed -- which is something I never do during the day.About an hour after taking the Aleve, as I stood in a checkout line, I noticed something unusual. Despite standing for a while, my bursitis had not flared up.And then, while driving to my next errand, I discovered that my lumbar pain, usually triggered by getting in and out of the car, had also failed to show up when it should have.Now I'm in my dentist's waiting room, killing time before my appointment by writing this review. My motivation for reviewing a popular product like Aleve is that for the first time in weeks I am not experiencing serious pain. Not even Vicodin could give me the relief from my osteoartjritis and bursitis that I've been provided by Aleve Liquid Gels. It looks like I'm going to get my life back.So for Tylenol users who find themselves, as they get older, facing new kinds of pain something along the lines of I'm experiencing, this review is for you.I'm passing along what I wish I'd learned years ago -- that all pain relievers are not created equal, and that for pain accompanied by serious inflammtion, Aleve is clearly superior to everything else I've tried, includung an opiate.Oh yes, and one more thng: When I get home later on I won't be going to bed.

Use these as my standby pain reliever and work when nothing else will. Quick acting.

Naproxen sodium (Aleve) is a solid OTC pain reliever for mild to moderate pain. It’s especially effective for arthritis/joint pain in my experience. Always be aware of risks before trying a med, but if you’ve taken Aleve before, you know whether it works for you. The liquigels make it even more effective. The price for a bottle was good when I bought and I haven’t seen a better price on generic liquigels.

Great product for pain!

I like that when I take aleve it takes care of the pain and I don’t need to take it everyday because the pain stays away for more than a day this may not be so for everyone but for me it works great
