Great watch for the price.
The feature ratings asked about "built in light" and "water resistance" which I had to give low stars regardless of my 5 star review, which I will explain.Built in light: there is no "built in light" like indiglo or backlighting, it is just standard lume. The lume is good and does it's job as expected, so there is no real issue there. Lume is solid.Water resistance: This is a 50m watch, which to the lamen or non-watch person, it means you shouldn't submerge it, but it's fine to get wet with light splashes of water. Think rain or washing your hands. For the price it's great. As expected from a quartz watch it keeps time nicely. No screw down crown which would definitely make this a fantastic field watch because of the increased water resistance, but again, for the price you can't expect everything. You won't need to worry about battery replacement for a very long time due to the solar charging, but you almost certainly won't get 6 months off of one full charge if you do charge it based on the user manual specs. I fully charged it following the user manual and got about 2 months, which is still fine. Durable watch, have used it during construction jobs with no issue, I am just careful about cleaning it and don't run it under a faucet like I do with my G Shock when it gets dirty. Wears like a true 40mm, 20mm lug width for the easiest possible strap changes and best variety. Looks great on natos. Leather strap included is garbage (again, sub $100 watch, I did not expect anything special) but will do the job for most people and you'll likely get a good amount of use out of it with daily wear. I bought the watch with full intention of changing out the straps immediately, though, so don't have any real experience with the leather strap.

Love it so far
This is a great little solar watch. But when I first pushed in the crown it did not run at all. So I put it under a lamp for about half an hour and still no movement. I figured it was defective, so I started to gather up the box and everything that was inside of it thinking I would be sending it back. As a last ditch thought I took it out side and put it in some very bright sun light and after a few second the second hand jump forward! I left it in the sunlight for awhile and it has work well since. I was very happy that I did not have to return it. It is just about the lowest priced solar watch I have seen, I believe it is an older model.

Not perfect. Great value and needs your help to present well.
I purchased this watch as an affordable "beater". A guilt free watch that I do anything in and go anywhere in. I could go to those sketchy places and it would barely get noticed. It succeeded in this regard. It's solar with 4 months reserve on a charge and i like that. That black coating is nice and seems pretty durable so far. The lume is disappointing but adds a nice lime green hint to the dial. Theresba surprising amount of 'dimension' to the dial that you notice with that chiseled inner chapter ring and the date cutout (the date is barely visible due to it's size or my older eyes). But I have to admit, this watch wasn't a 'looker' out of its cheap box (I like cheap packaging on Timexes, put it into the watch and my savings). The "leather" band was poorly chosen and cheap and didn't act the way that real leather should act (savings, forgiven). But the band is functional. The case shape is polarizing, I don't like it, it's like having a small black tin of tuna strapped to your wrist (no non cylinder effects to be found). But if you use a little imagination, it can totally be saved. Here it is with a Vario twill midnight blue and green Zulu strap. It just needed a dynamic band to lift it up. I will leave you to judge the look yourselves.(the lumed numbers are noticeably more attractive now). Would recommend for a hard working watch for sure.

Very Nice
This is a large watch for me, but there is no Timex solar option for women and with the recent popularity of gigantic smart watches, I decided this was the one for me. I have wondered about solar cell watches for a while and had not checked prices until now and Timex had these priced reasonably.I am one of those lucky people that for whatever reason started to kill watch batteries in the '90s when I was in jeweler's school, so I stopped wearing a watch altogether. Still not sure what that's about, perhaps a magnetic anomaly as some suggest; I had a nice Timex then and especially loved Indiglo and still miss that feature. I think an extra battery and Indiglo option are the answer to making this the ideal watch, but I don't know if I'm going to continue to kill batteries, so that is a possible issue. This is a nice watch, I do like the 40mm size even if it's awkward on my wrist (I may try a bund strap, to spread out the size a bit) and it does keep glowing strongly in the dark for the entire night for easy glances. The ticking is not loud enough that I can hear it on the table next to the bed at night. It's lightweight and easy to read despite the black background, which I really like. I occasionally set it in the sun at the window, but it keeps perfect time and I am glad I chose this particular watch. I could have gotten a 36mm for a hundred dollars more, Timex isn't really promoting their solar watches now and I can't imagine why not, but this was one of the less expensive options.Update 25 April, 2023: This is my favorite watch despite how large it is, I did put a bund strap on it and I like it better that way. It keeps excellent time and glows straight through until morning when I leave it under my reading lamp for 15-20 minutes before going to sleep.
