Typical R. S. Means
Good product for the home owner or contractor. Pricing is reasonable and guide is easy to follow. Any home owner about to do their own remodel or hire a contractor would be well served buying and using this guide.

Good info, good price
If you're like me, you may be interested in this book because it costs a lot less than "Residential Costs with RS Means Data". It's full of good data but just not as much. It's roughly half as many pages. And instead of being organized by CSI spec numbers, it is organized by the sequence of construction from job prep through framing, finishing, fixtures and closeout. It think it must be a logical table of contents for contractors of smaller projects that don't use AIA pay applications that break down the costs by CSI divisions.I think the book is very useful. I appreciate the lower cost, even though I have to interpolate when some items are missing.

How it is set up
Doesn’t really work for me. Thought maybe it would be a good way to double check my estimates but the first time I went to use it was for a crack filling job and I would have left half the money behind. Also the way it is set up doesn’t work for me either.
