The Little, Brown Compact Handbook (9th Edition)

English is not an easy language, and the rules do change. The best answer? This book, or another version thereof.

This book was 75% cheaper to rent for my English class opposed to purchasing it. If you're worried about the MLA not being updated, you can always use other resources but other than that this book was exactly what I needed to complete my college course at a cheaper cost.

Easy read and straight to the point. Has good exercises to do before you start writing to get you in a flowing mindset.
