White Lily Bread Flour, 5 Pound

This is not the super low gluten flour that White Lily makes famous for their biscuits. This is different high gluten wheat for loaves of bread. Naively, I thought the original flour could be used for making bread in my new breadmaker. The loaves I made with this flour were wonderful so I fully recommend it.

I love bread flour when I’m making home made bread. Perfect for the bread maker machine! Great flavor and value for the money. The packaging was a little loose and some of the flour had gotten out but overall wonderful purchase.

I make a batch of hot rolls every few days . Really good soft rolls .It cost more then other places but I needed it & its good . 4 cups of flour makes 18 hot rolls with yeast & other items in the recipe .

I prefer to use bread flour in my bread machine for bread and pizza dough recipes and I get consistently good results using this White Lily brand. I used to have this flour on subscribe and save at a good price. However, the constant price variations on this item seem to be some type of "bait and switch". Sometimes the price is reasonable but usually it is much higher than it should be and this is completely ridiculous. It will occasionally be at a good price but only for a very brief period of time, so you need to respond quickly before the price goes right back up again. This is an item that I always stock up on, when the price is right. I wouldn't even consider buying this item when it is extremely overpriced. It is too risky to leave this item on subscribe and save and be subject to one of the outrageous increases in price before future shipments. Amazon should look into whatever the problem is with the pricing on this item if they expect to keep subscribe and save customers. I would like to leave this item on subscribe and save because it is a good product but only at a reasonable price is it worth buying. I keep this item on my amazon wish list and when the price is low, I order multiple bags using subscribe and save but after receiving the order I cancel any future shipment. I like this product but there is nothing "magical" about White Lily and I can get adequate results with any bread flour, so I buy based on price. When I can get a 5 lb bag of Pillsbury bread flour for under $3.00 or Gold Medal bread flour for under $4.00 from Walmart any day of the week, there is no reason to pay an absurdly high price for this White Lily brand. Update: Walmart has even recently had this White Lily bread flour for sale for less than $3.00 for a 5 lb bag. I like this flour but I certainly wouldn't pay any more than I have to for it.

It’s just what I wanted & I love baking bread.

Like the previous reviewer, I am only reviewing the flour itself, not the insane price swings this product experiences. It is absolutely, hands down, the best bread flour I've ever used. It's fine and silky like all-purpose and self-rising White Lily flour, but contains enough gluten to make your yeast baked goods high and fluffy, with that wonderful "pull" the most irresistible breads and pastries have. It hasn't been available locally in my area (get on the stick Publix!) so I've depended on Amazon to supply it. Until the last week or two, it's been under $3.00 for 5 pounds. I cancelled my subscribe and save and refuse to buy it at today's price of over $10. Hopefully, my waistline will benefit.

Hands down - best loaf of bread made to date. Recently got bread maker; so first loaves were made with Gold Medal, then tried King Arthur's which was quite good and waaayyy better than GM, then decided to try White Lilly (add on price of 2.64/5lbs) and while KA was very good, I found as the entire household agreed - White Lilly bread was the BESt tasting to date. Now to be fair, and I don't how much this might have made a difference, but with WL I used/gave SAF Premium yeast a try. Moving forward, I will stick with WL and SAF. (so much so, bought 3 more @ 2.64/5lb of WL
