Important contribution to group therapy literature
Cole and Reese's book not only shines a light on current development and evolution of Gestalt group therapy (GGT) it is also a gem for any group therapist practicing from a humanistic, experiential model. Clearly and beautifully written, this book presents a great balance of the scaffolding of theory with descriptions of clinical material and vignettes reflecting actual practice. This, along with a self-revealing personal flavor brings the reader home to our shared humanity, offering a reading experience that mirrors the interactive Gestalt group therapy approach that the book itself describes. I have been practicing and teaching group therapy for decades and see this as an essential must-read for students as well as beginning and experienced group therapists. In time this book will be a classic

Excellent book for anyone running therapy groups
When I saw this book had been published I couldn’t download it fast enough! Group work is an area lacking in recent literature for Gestalt therapists, and this book is a wonderful, clear, concise guide that elegantly articulates the aims and tensions of Gestalt group work. I am deeply grateful to the authors for sharing their extensive experience in clinical practice, and providing me with a compass that points truly towards the heart of GGT.
