Great for sore or chafed nipples
These are nice to put in while I am feeding on the opposite side. I initially used a hakaa and had a terrible experience with it. I also ended up need them when my daughter started rearing her head back during feeding which resulted in painful chafing that these helped relieve. The silicone backing does get a bit "sticky" so it can be uncomfortable to reposition if your nipples are very sore or sensitive. They allow a good amount of air circulation. It's nice to have the option for vented and closed, the vented will 100% leak if you lean over while wearing them so the closed are my go to if I'm leaving the house. I wear them under a nursing bra and you can barely tell they're there, I'm a 38B/C. I did fall asleep in them once, I am very careful not to do it again. They restricted blood flow and my nipple and areola were stark white and super tender for the next few days. That however, was definitely user error!

Awesome...but for home-use only
I've had sore nipples and excessive letdown leaking from the minute baby was born, it seems like, and these have been so helpful in dealing with both of those issues. I agree with everyone else: you CANNOT possibly wear these out of the house and hope no one will notice, but for around the house, they're great at what they do! I will second the opinion, too, that these should not be worn for more than 45 mins to an hour, because they do put uncomfortable pressure on the breast, and I did develop a minor plugged duct after forgetting and leaving the vented ones on for a 3 hour nap. While I was able to easily clear the plug, it's easy to avoid if you just remove these within an hour. I'm a 36DD with, apparently, longer nipples, and these work great for me. My nipples get a chance to breathe and heal, and I'm able to save letdown milk! PLEASE NOTE though that since buying these, I also recently switched to wool reusable breast pads (LANAcare, Ekstra style, Medium size overnight and Small size for the day) instead of using the cotton reusable or disposable breast pads I had been using, and I really noticed a HUGE difference in my nipples once I switched to wool. The wool pads contain lanolin, so they soothe the nipple, and because they're not holding the moisture in with plastic (and because wool wicks away moisture so well) it's incredibly healing for the nipples.Using both wool pads AND these breast shells have almost completely cleared up my nipple soreness issue. If you're struggling with clothing or pads feeling painful on your nipples, it's really worth the investment to try the LANAcare wool pads. Plus, the wool is antibacterial, so you only need to wash them every 2-3 weeks! Amazing!

Good product, but not for healing cracked nipples
I bought these to assist me with healing a badly cracked nipple. It was suggested that I leave the nipple to the air and I thought these would assist me with that and still let me keep my shirt on. Like other users commented, the shells are obvious under clothes, but that didn't really bother me. There are two issues that I have. First, the shells are more designed to assist with eliminating engorgement. They are designed to put pressure on the tissue surrounding the nipple and drain milk. As such, they were constantly filling up with milk and if I didn't empty them frequently enough, I would spill milk all over my shirt (and sometimes my son as I bent to pick him up) requiring frequent costume changes. Second, the instructions recommend wearing the shells for no more than 40 minutes at a time due to the pressure placed on your breast from them. While the shells worked great for preventing engorgement, they were useless for trying to heal my cracked nipple. If you are looking for engorgement relief, then I highly recommend them. If you're trying to heal cracked nipples, pass on these for a different product.

40 minute wearing limit
I thought these were amazing for trying to heal due to a shallow latching baby. I missed the part in the instructions that say not to wear longer than 40 minutes because longer use can lead to clogged ducts. I was starting to feel like I could possibly because getting the early signs of a clogged duct after wearing these continuously for about a day and that’s when I discovered there’s a time limit. I immediately stopped wearing them and everything went back to normal. This wasn’t something I saw upfront so I thought it’d be helpful to share because a lot of comments were talking about wearing them all day and night.

These are great for catching milk from one breast while you're nursing ...
These are great for catching milk from one breast while you're nursing your baby with the other. We saved a lot of milk that way. However, if you're planning to wear them all day, you can't bend over at the waist, or your shirt is going to be soaked! I've done this many times. (Try bending at the knee instead). For this product, it is all about having the right expectations for how you plan to use it. I would NOT recommend these for the following uses: 1. All day/to work/in public (they have too big of a profile under your bra--I look like Madonna so I don't wear them in public) 2. At night (they leak if you leak too much and your nipples need a rest from being pressed up against the plastic) I WOULD recommend them for: 1. Catching milk when you're nursing at home. They were especially useful right after my son was born and I wasn't leaving the house that much anyway. This was also the period of time where I was most likely to leak, so these worked out great! I use my Medela softshells at night.

I wish I knew about these sooner
These are the best inventions for breastfeeding moms! When I first started breastfeeding, milk would leak like crazy on the other side I always thought it would have been nice if someone design something to catch the leak so the milk doesn't go to waste. Then I found these and they work amazingly! I remember I was able to save 1 oz of milk during 1 feeding session. When I am engorged in pain at night, say 4am, and my baby didn't wake up to feed, I no longer have to go wide awake and wonder if I should get up and pump. (and that is not an easy decision because I'd hear my baby cry every time AFTER I finished pumping!) Nowadays I would get up and put these shells in and go back to sleep. Milk would leak out from my nipples and give me some relieve so I can continue to sleep. The only problem is because the plastic doesn't mold perfectly over your breasts, milk would sometimes leak out on the edges/sides instead of letting the cup catch it. I'd try to lay in a position that milk won't leak out on the edges. But even if it leaks, these are still lifesaver because at least I won't be in pain anymore and am able to get some rest until my baby cries. I wish I knew about these when I was still pregnant - I dealt with crazy engorgement pain when my milk first came in. I was crying when calling the lactation hotlines. Back then I was in so much pain and was so sleep deprived that I could not process any advice. I wonder what it would have been like if I had these shells back then! Overall I highly recommend this product!

Don't Waste Any More Gold Milk!
Got this when i had my 2nd Child and it was Just Fantastic! Why waste all of your Precious Milk going into a Breast Pad or on Your Bra or Clothes or Spraying All Over the Place! We Aren't Here to Water Grass Ladies! It can be a lil Uncomfortable wearing it inside of your bra at first but when you see how much Milk you Can Save.. Its Sooo Worth It! Especially if you're NOT a Total Milk machine pumping n filling Multiple Containers between each feeding Like Me... So EVERY DROP Really IS like Gold to Me! So Definitely Leaving the House n Hearing a Crying Baby at the Store Regardless if its Yours or Not... I Didn't get Super Irritated anymore thinking How Much Milk I was Wasting after you Feel it Lock. LOAD n DROP! 😅 THANK YOU TO WHOMEVER INVENTED THIS! Don't Know which Brand was the first and there is some super generic ones out there.. But this Brand Definitely Holds the Milk In Secure As Long as Your Bra is Tight Enough But You have to Bend Forward to Take them Off So they DON'T Spill Out if You have some Full Cups! And it Def had some getting Used to to Balance the Breast Cups Full of Milk on the bed or a counter while you wrap things up.. Esp when my 2yr old son would jump on the bed or touch n Knock over the cups and Milk Would Spill Alllll Over... 😫😑😅 Wish I Had this for my First Pregnancy! Super Easy to Clean... 5 Stars! 💕

Not worth it
UPDATE: Let me save you some money, time and laundry. DO NOT BUY IT, I’ve bought different bras and I get soaked on breaksmilk every time, my son also gets soaked so I’ve had to buy more blankets for him just in case I get him covered, these shells are useless. They leak all the time Original post: With my 1st I ordered some off brand shells that worked better than these ones. I would give 0 stars if I could. Here are the reasons: -It’s not as easy to put together as the off brand shell I mentioned before, my mom has a hard time. -Once I pulled it up and it opened from the bottom spilling over myself. - It gets full so fast so you need to empty it more often and if it gets full is hard to remove without the milk coming out from the nipple hole. - Water gets stuck on the sides of one part of the shell so it doesn’t dry as quick. -Once on you can tell you are wearing a shell as they are small and bumpy instead of following the natural shape of a breast. They are more expensive than others in the market so I don’t recommend buying these ones since you could get them cheaper and better elsewhere

Absolutely useless
There’s no proper way to put them on top stop them from slipping. Can only put inside bra and even then they slip and leak. Absolute waste of money.

Not worth it
I actually bought it after reading tones of reviews. But trust me the product is not worth buying. One can’t be glued to this all the time when breast feeding. I have silicone Breast pump and manual breast pump which serve entire purpose. This is really not the best item to buy for milk saving.
