Excellent chili powder
Just bought this for the second time. It's my go-to chili powder when I make chili, and I sometimes throw in a small amount of chipotle chili powder when I want to add an extra bit of heat. Regardless, this Ancho chili powder works well on its own, and is very good used in pulled chicken and homemade barbecue sauce.

I love their spices! They are very consistent and fresh!
Spiceology makes incredible spices. I try to only buy spices from them now, as they are always incredibly fresh. Highly recommended.

Got this for my nephew who is a professional. It’s the brand he uses, so I trust his palette.

And here I thought I could use this instead of grinding whole dried Ancho chiles.
It should be obvious, but the flavor of this ancho chile powder just can't compare with buying actual dried ancho chiles, toasting them and making your own powder in a food processor. I decided to take a shot cut and now regret it. Flavor is just okay. Doesn't pop like the real thing.

Great flavor, not too hot
I was a little skeptical based on the labeling. I was very pleased with this spice! Great flavor, not too hot but with great ancho flavor. Love it. It allows me to put more in and not make my family cry with it being too spicy.

I was trying to find the spice they put on ...
I was trying to find the spice they put on flowered mangoes at flea markets, and this is almost it exactly. Add a little salt and fresh squeezed lime and you're golden.

Excellent Aroma, Flavor,and Price
An excellent product with fast service. I hate to use the word "fresh" to describe a dried powder, but the aroma and flavor were great, not stale like what I get from the local supermarket. And this is way cheaper by volume!

It adds rich flavor
I use it as a base for making chili. It’s rich in flavor. I also add a small amount of chipotle for the high notes.

Neutral review- this is Pasilla, not Ancho
Well, I guess the definition of Ancho and Pasilla depends on who you're speaking to, or what region, because this in aroma, flavour and heat- through and through - is Pasilla. It has that raisiny, earthy aroma and flavour, with zero heat. The colour is also much darker than red. The other three brands/sources I commonly use for Ancho in both powder and whole chili form differ vastly from what Spiceology calls 'Ancho'.I'm overloaded with Pasilla at the moment, and this is nearly identical to the other 3 brands of Pasilla I currently have on hand.First and last time purchasing. Price is right, but it's not what I'm looking for.I also question the use of Ethoxyquin which is highly regulated and banned in several countries around the globe.

Great for places that’s hard to get spice
Wasn’t the best I’ve had but hood product when you live in places hard to get spices.

Excellent flavour
We use this spice on virtually every meat that hits the bbq or smoker. Taste is great and once finished, would definitely buy again
