Camera and solar panel
Bought this to go with camera I got as well for back of house . Had previously got a camera to go in porch and was very happy with performance. We decided to get a solar panel this time to go with the camera as we are south facing and do have outside lights with panels on them and know they do charge up well. I did find when setting panel up was a bit loss , would be better if bracket was in the middle, as was setting up just under guttering and was having to put at sideways angle and would not stay in position. But I finally found a position it would hold. Would be nice if you did the panel in choice of two colours ( black and white) as a white one would blend in more , but once up it charged the camera really well, and you can check how the solar panel is charging on the app. The battery symbol shows green so you know it is charging. Would highly recommend the cameras and solar panel to go with the cameras.Very happy with the products from this company.

Charges in East-facing porch while there is some sunshine
I positioned the solar panel vertically, close to my HeimVision HMD2 wireless security camera in a sheltered East-facing porch area which gets light throughout the day but little direct sunlight other than during sunrise. On a suburban street with motion detection triggering 20s recordings around 60 times a day and night vision set to automatic (so infrared lights turn on at night) the camera's battery goes down to around 60% at night. It's spring now with clear sunny days, sunrise at 6am with the twilight of dawn from 5am, and the battery shows 100% by around 7am so the panel seems to provide a good charging rate. With this rate I'm optimistic it should provide enough charge to manage a full recharge on darker winter days (when there is less light and the camera's infrared lights will be on for longer) though we'll have to see.It was fairly quick to mount though I ended up using different wall plugs to those supplied for the masonry drill bit I had. The cable is too long for my setup however I wrapped it round the mount behind the panel. The camera's resolution and app is good however the motion is more juddery than from my indoor Victure 1080P FHD WiFi IP Camera and the camera only starts recording a couple of seconds after motion is detected (rather than continuously) and for a configurable length of time (20s, 40s or 1m) so things passing by triggering the recording are often out of shot before the recording has started meaning nothing appears on some of them.More cheap truths on my blog gichow.comUpdate October 2020: On overcast days from my porch location insufficient charge is provided to power the camera and when viewing through the app it just shows an increasing % and eventually 'Device is Offline'

Easy install good picture.
Easy to install good quality picture.I don't use the subscription as I found it quite expensive but it does send a message quite quickly to my phone if someone is at the door and I can speak to them if I wish.I have a inserted a card which I hope it us recording too, I haven't checked it yet.

Keeps the batteries charged after heavy use provided there is plenty of direct sunlight.
This panel works well with the heimvision hmd2 camera. It does seem to need to be in full sun to charge, and to this end it should be tilted to the southern sky ideally on a south-facing wall. One of my walls faces east and I have mounted the panel pointing towards the south-east - on a sunny morning this gives about three hours charging time which has been sufficient to keep the batteries fully charged after a busy night.

A must if you purchase the camera!!!
When I bought my second heimvision camera I decided to purchase two solar panels. They are very good quality and easy to install and hook up to the camera. The one thing I do think would be handy is if the bracket could be made so it’s extendable as I wanted to place mine on the gable end of my property but the bracket was to short to situate the panel past the roof tyles. That’s the reason for 4stars instead of 5

Saves the hassle of changing batteries
Comes with weatherproofing boot for the Camera. Mounting thread same as that of my house panels (not metric). Well made and looks robust. As mine is on the roof this is essential.

Disappointing
It doesn’t keep my camera charged and I still have to keep recharging my camera even though it is high up and facing the sun

Upside Down
The fixings for the panel I received are in the top of the panel, not in the bottom as indicated in the photos and drawings. This means that the cable entry into the panel is exposed to the rain (which is why I have rated water resistance and weatherproofing to 3) and, aesthetically, it is not as pleasing to the eye. Let's hope function is better than form.
