Goya Foods Yellow Rice and Seafood Dinner Mix (Paella Dinner Kit), 19-Ounce

Very easy to make and delicious. I add a little seafood medley bits like shrimp, clams, octopus etc and is a great meal. Husband is Cuban and it is comfort food for him so I enjoy making it every now and then.

I have been using this Paella mix for a long time. It is a great mix to start a Paella. I add shrimp, chicken, Spanish chorizo, peas, more saffron, and olive oil. I wish it was cheaper online. It costs a lot less when I find it at a grocery store.

This product has a great flavor in terms of spices, but it is too salty. This product definitely is not for those who have to watch their salt intake.

My cousin lived in several countries where paella is very common. She told me this Goya Paella is a huge shortcut when she makes it here. Just add more chicken, shrimp, muscles, to your taste.

I know what an authentic paella tastes like, having grown up in a Hispanic culture. My family regularly went out to eat in fine Spanish restaurants on Sundays as I was growing up. We also went to fine Cuban restaurants, where we also ate excellent paella. So I know very well what authentic Spanish paella is supposed to taste like. Well, this ISN'T it. Not even close! The fine combination of flavors that delight the palate simply isn't here. Plus, the seasoning is much too salty. And the rice doesn't even have the right tone of yellow, which means that the so-called "seasoning" probably contains little to no saffron, which is what gives the rice that nice, bright yellow tone.To make matters even worse, I had to do the very same thing one of the other negative reviewers did -- keep adding more water in an attempt to get the rice as tender as it should be. This expanded the cooking time from the 20 minutes recommended in the package instructions to well over an hour, and even THEN, the rice was still too hard!In short, this is a TOTAL disappointment, and I ended up picking out the seafood, then throwing most of the rice in the trash. I will definitely NOT be buying this product again!

I ordered two Pealla Yellow rice mixes and I only received one.

I donated this product to a food bank ... and regretted that I hadn't bought a box for me. Looking forward to trying it soon.

I buy this all the time and add my own seafood, chicken and sausage. It makes a big pan full and everyone who I have served it too asks for my recipe! I even have a friend who makes paella from scratch and she says it is as good as hers.
