Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Plus Waterproof Hiking Boot

I want to give a bit of backstory. We have recently gotten more serious about hiking and backpacking and I spent a week looking and comparing shoes before deciding on these. And I'm glad I did!We're out in Arkansas, in the Ouachita Mountains, and are preparing to do the entire Ouachita Trail in one go next year (it is 223 miles), so I needed to prepare way in advance with good shoes. As of late, we've been doing anywhere from 5-8 miles a day and are getting ready to do upwards of 10-15 miles a day.So far, I love these! There is a lot of different terrain as you're going up and down these mountains, and the grip on these has proven to be great. They provide great ankle support, while not coming way up your ankle/leg. I've "rolled" my ankle a couple times, and I think they've paid for themselves just in saving my ankles! They are extremely comfortable and lightweight weight and have made all the difference in our hikes. They've also held up having to walk through small creeks as well; I haven't gotten them completely wet yet though. The material they're made with is fantastic, they're very well made.I'll try to post another update in a month or two when I've got a few more miles on them. But as of right now, I definitely recommend these if you're going out hiking or backpacking.

I have weak ankles and have been looking for a pair of high top shoes that would help. All of the shoes I looked at were not at all supportive or not appealing to my style. So my search lead me to hiking boots. I found several that have a fur lining or are heavy. I read the reviews on these and I am glad I did! I have worn these a few times and found they are supportive, lightweight, and stylish! I normally wear an 8, but ordered an 8 1/2 because I have wide feet. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a hiking boot or needing ankle support.

These boots are definitely worth the hype and positive reviews. Bought my usual size 7 and they fit perfectly. They're great quality, comfy to wear, and have already been on numerous hikes and adventures. They're also not too clunky and go with a lot of outfits so bonus. I am getting a backup pair for myself. Columbia is always a reliable brand.

I bought these to go hiking with a group of friends. At first I was fearful that I was going to get blisters or the boots were going to be heavy for the hike but I was wrong. These boots were to lightweight and comfortable I was able to go 10 hour hike with them on, no complaints.

EDIT: 8 JULY 2023The third picture is what this review update is all about. That was our average steps for the past days while speed running through Hongkong’s sights. There were days where we walked 25,000-26,000 steps. Definitely not for the faint of legs and knees. But you know what? We didn’t get a singleblister, sore/ foot/ankle pain. And we owe it to the most comfortable hiking shoes ever. My partner also bought his pair (last pic) and it arrived a day before the trip. We highly recommend this pair if you’re up to serious hiking miles (although we’re skeptical using this on tropical jungle hikes).**********************************************************This is my second pair of Newton Ridge. I bought my first one in our local Columbia store. I’ve tried different pairs of hiking shoes/boots over the years and this by far is the most comfortable.The sizing is just right-with enough room for a good pair of socks and ample space for my toes. After two years of use, my first pair showed the wrinkles stated by some of reviewers here. When I brought up this issue in our local Columbia store, I was advised of a specific shoe care kit for leather boots, that I can buy from any leather shoe store.Hopefully this pair will last longer than the previous one. Generally, a well-rounded hiking boot. Although, I’m a bit apprehensive wearing these on a wet and muddy tropical jungle trek.

Bought this for my Costa Rica trip and was wearing it almost everyday. Great traction and it is waterproof (as long as water level does not go above the boot opening, which is expected since these are not water shoes). It is sufficiently lightweight and I did not feel it heavy on my feet after 1-2 trial hikes. It is easy to clean once muddy- just have to wipe the outside with a wet cloth.

These Columbia boots are super comfortable right out of the box! Adorable too. I got the peach color and I absolutely love them. Walked through a little creek and there were no issues with water. I’ve only worn them a time or two so far but I’m sure they’ll hold up. Columbia is always quality.

I didn’t break them in for the hike in Yosemite and they were surprisingly soo comfortable. My feet didn’t get blisters and they didn’t hurt till the end of our all day hike. My best friend got the same shoes and she had the same thoughts. I’m glad I chose these shoes! I highly recommend these 10/10

Je suis très satisfaite. J'ai le modèle rouge et rose que je trouve très laid mais comme il était a moitié prix, je m'en fou. Vu d'en haut c'est pas laid finalement. Je suis très confortable, cheville bien soutenue. Elles agrippent bien à la caillasse. J'adore leur confort et qu'elles soient souple. J'ai bousillé mes pieds avec des merrell trop rigide. Maintenant je sens les cailloux, mon pied peux mieux travailler et réagir. Voilà très satisfaite. Un peu chaude pour l'été dans le sud mais elles seront parfaites pour l'hiver.

Ich habe einige Schuhe durchprobiert, bis ich schließlich beim Columbia Newton Ridge landete. Mein Problem ich ein hallux valgus, der die Suche nach passenden Wanderschuhen nicht sehr einfach gestaltete.Ich habe inzwischen einige Wanderungen absolviert und ich schätze an diesen Schuhen das geringe Gewicht und den guten Halt. Den Hallux polstere ich ein wenig extra ab, dann macht auch der unterwegs kaum Probleme ;). Die herausnehmbare Innensohle ermöglicht es, eigene orthopädischen Einlagen zu verwenden.Richtig wasserfest sind die Schuhe m. E. nicht, aber wenn man sie gut mit Imprägnierspray behandelt, kommt man auch bei feuchten Witterungsverhältnissen ganz gut klar.Dank eines guten Rabattangebots fand ich die Schuhe mit 87 Euro preislich annehmbar, aber am wichtigsten ist natürlich eine sehr gute Passform.Ich würde diese Schuhe wieder kaufen.
