Hellsing Deluxe Volume 1: deluxe edition

Dark Horse are doing an amazing job with these 'deluxe editions' first Berserk and now Hellsing. Definitely the best possible edition there will ever be. Large format print, very thick paper and well bound. Will look amazing on anybody's shelf and well worth the asking price. Whereas Berserk will probably go to 13+ volumes Hellsing will be a nice short 3 volumes. Hopefully some more Dark Horse Manga titles will make the jump to Deluxe edition. Blade of the Immortal is coming next and fingers crossed for maybe Oldboy & I Am A Hero....

Amazing release of a classic manga. This looks superb on my shelves and the quality alone ensures I'll be buying the second and third volumes. I've seen other deluxe editions that cost more and weren't half as impressive, so get on this ASAP. The manga itself is fantastic fun as well!

I received this manga half expecting the pages to be of low quality and just an overall mediocre volume. Instead I received a very well bound, clean page, high quality manga volume which is fantastic. Also, much cheaper that buying at a proper bookstore. Very recommended if you love hellsing

a Special Edition that will be unmatched for decades to come, this and the Berserk Editions are phenomenal, well built and gorgeous to look at, and the story is a classic that deserved the Deluxe treatment, a HC does not get better than these.

Large books with clear printing and nice feel leather style cover. I would recommend buying these as they will definitely increase in price and are a must for any collector.

Came in perfect condition and is a great manga, I love deluxe versions so I had to get this as well, I hope more mangas get deluxe versions as I think they are far better than the original smaller versions

There are three of these hardcover volumes that form the whole of this series. In all honesty, the presentation of these volumes alone is worth five stars. The pages are A4 sized, much larger than standard tankobons. And boy, does the artwork on display here deserve such a treatment. Briefly, the plot here is not going to overtake win awards. It's secret services (British and.. Vatican) vs vampire and Nazis. And vampire Nazis. I mean, you will probably know from that description whether you should try this series out. The story is perfectly presentable and readable, but the show stealer is the artwork. Yes, there are a fair few recurring tropes. Lots of characters wear glasses and end up being draped in shadow so that only one lens reflects for dramatic, dynamic contrast slightly more often than seems plausible. But... It does look cool. The art here consists of dramatic and exaggerated poses. Swathes of shadow and darkness surrounding gothic imagery. Bold line work gives way to hyper detailed moments or the occasional cartoony sequence when required. BUT, what justifies the price of admission to me, are the moments when things get weird. For me, the best sections are when things get a little darkly psychedelic. For all the times you might have seen some sort of superpower displayed in sequential art, you probably haven't seen anything like Alucard's displays of lovecraftian omnipotence. There are pages that will just make you stop and stare. I recommend this, if only to encourage Dark Horse to make more of these excellently built deluxe editions. The story is shallow but isn't pretedning to be anything more. The art is high gothic drama with occasional mind opening sections. If that sounds fun to you then check it out.

This thicc boi arrived in crisp condition. Although the packaging could have been better but it was delivered safely.

Belle brochure un peu cher

Seems to be impossible to get digitally but it's nice to read a physical book again. Also love the story. Albeit it seems heavier than most similar sized hard backs I own. But still love it.
