I had one of these rods whenever I was around the age of ten, and I absolutely loved it. Over time being a dumb kid I tried to see how far I could bend it and ended up breaking it and kept the reel and threw the reel onto a bamboo pole I had, and used it for 10+ years for bluegill. I moved to a ocean side place and decided to get this product again as a baitfish setup while my main pole was being used. I use it at least once a week, I intend on using the rod even after the reel stops working. This is a very good value for your money and every time I go fishing everyone always asks where I got my little rod from. I am beyond happy with my purchase, and in the picture I provided, is a bluefin trevally that I caught using this rod/reel setup and it was also in the 6 lb test that it comes prespooled with. I was just going for a little baitfish on a piece of shrimp and he took it and ran and the rod and reel handled it very very good, it is also super fun to catch triggerfish and other reef fish with. By this point I have caught more fish and had more fun with this little setup than I have with my main setup. Definitely would purchase again. Added benefit of this product is that it can fit in a large suitcase and you can go fishing anywhere you may travel. Edit: Caught a bigger bluefin trevally on it and picture is provided in the last picture. I have since changed out the 6lb test to 15lb test. Original review still stands, just an awesome little setup, and super fun to catch some bigger fish on. Going to swap out the reel with a penn 4000 series reel once I upgrade my main setup.

Best small fishing pole I’ve ever had, perfect for the work truck. Lunch breaks I can actually fish with it! Caught a 12lb cat fish with it hours after I received it!

I love this little rod, it is great for taking on a kayak as it is so small and easy to manage. This rod is stout though, have had no issue hauling in trout and small bass. The reel however is complete garbage hence docking 1 star off the rating; just throw it in the trash (or recycle it) and get a better spincast reel for it. I put a Kastking cadet on it and it is an awesome little combo. I am sure a Zebco 202 or 404 would pair well with it too. Yeah those reels may cost more than the price of this combo, but this little rod is worth way more than the $9-10 you will pay.

I wasn't sure what to expect with the low price but Zebco is a reputable brand so I took a chance. It's smaller than I expected. I tried it on the lake on a very windy day. No trouble at all casting long distances. No tangling of the line either. Used heavier lures and some very light ones. It zings them right out there and has very smooth retrieval.

Please realize this little pole is decent but requires a bit of a learning curve. If you’re new to fishing and this is your first pole please only lift the metal bar up when you’re casting. If you cast and then force the metal bar down and start spinning the lever then that’s a great way to get your string all tangled up around your reel. Instead, only use the force of spinning the lever to get the metal bar to go down. This insures you are only spinning the reel in the correct direction. Some reels have a stop that prevent the tangling but this one does not so keep that in mind. Also the string on this pole is horrible I recommend changing it right away. Other than this leading curve, this could be a decent starting pole for any new or returning fisherman.

I saw all the bad reviews on this little combo set that I purchased to take my 4 year old grandson fishing. I'm not sure what people had expected for under 10.00. This little set up is great.Thwvlittle rod is perfect for a little kid to fish with. Just drop the line in the water with a bobber and the world is good. The reel is just what is expected for a reel made by Zebco. Push the button and the line drops in the water. Grandpa doesn't have to untagle knots all day because the line is enclosed. Just like what was used when our kids were little. I just might use it in the winter for ice fishing. 😂😂😂

I haven’t been fishing for in 15+ years. But recently my girlfriend and I rented a tiny house on a lake and I decided it would be fun to give it try. Enter the dock demon. For less than $10 (on sale) you get a killer little rod and reel that gives you hours of fun. I caught absolutely nothing the entire time we were there but thats probably because I’ve always been a terrible fisherman. Going to keep this in my car for random ponds and streams in the area. Definitely worth getting one to keep in the car, or if you’re looking to casually get back into fishing. Be advised you will need to acquire bait, bobbers, hooks, and weights. But the back of the cardboard that the pole comes attached to has some instructions on how to tie a knot to the hook and placement for everything else.

Absolutely a perfect product. Useful for kids who likes fishing. Athough looks small it has significant capacity to hold weight. Very easy to handle as well

Excelente combo para pesca menor pero muy resistente para las presas que nos puedan dar la sorpresa. Muy recomendable ponerle hilo trenzado de 10 líbras para mayor seguridad. Muy claro queda que no se logran lances muy largos, pero para la pesca de orilla genial!

The reel is not much to sing about, but the Rod is virtually unbreakable and great fun. Great for kids or to have in the car to fish with when opportunity arises. The rod is very flexible, so don't expect to cast it long distances, but great for just throwing a line next to a pier, wharf, bridge, river bank, or maybe even a boat. Better still if you match the rod with a reasonable 1000 or 2000 reel. For the price I give it 4 stars, because I think the reel could be a bit better.
