Needed repair out of the box
Used a 3 prong to 1/4" adapter to plug straight into my amp and had extremely low volume. I figured it must be low impedance mic with the 3 prong cord? So, I Bought a low to high impedance transformer. Still had very low volume, and noticed the volume pot had no effect. Took the mic apart and found one of the wires was disconnected from the volume pot. Re-soldered it. Now it works. There is no mention of the mics impedance anywhere. I figure it must be right on the line between the two. Without the transformer it seems a bit quite, and with the transformer it seems a bit loud...The knurled volume knob is too big for the round cavity where the pot is mounted in the mic case. So, it grinds and scrapes off the paint when turned, and if I pull the knob off the potentiometer shaft far enough so it doesn't scrape, the knob has a tendency to fall off the shaft. Also the bag is kind of useless since the cord is hard wired to the mic and the bag is too small for both cord and mic.I bought this mic because it was cheap, but for the price of the mic and the low to high impedance transformer I could have just bought a good mic.

Replacing 2 Horner early 70s BluesBlasters awaiting new elements...
Have used for the past 3 days and for the mulla.. eh...To much hand sensitivity and knob for the pot is a bit crunchy when rotated. Other than being a wrist weight you get a nice case modder?

3 stars because I haven't been able to use it.
It came with 3 prong male mic cable end and no converter. I guess the don't make them with 1/4 guitar plugs...too bad.

Meh
Love the look and feel, but after one practice session it fell apart during sound check before a show. Volume knob stripped and then it shorted out. To make it worse, it’s stuck in my stand. Spend a little more and get the green bullet if you plan on using it more than once.

Same as the Alctron ZD-2 Harmonica Mic
This is a copy of a review I wrote for the Alctron ZD-2 Harmonica Microphone with Volume Control. This is the same Chinese mic packaged under a different name.--------------------------------------------------Well, I jumped off the deep end and bought this mic. I expect it to be built like a tank but with a cheap Chinese element. I'll give it a try and see how it is. The classic great harmonica microphones were just cheap comm mics in their day. That's why they break up and give you that blues sound, so who knows? If I don't like the way it sounds, I'll gut it and put a hot element in it. I like the way it looks with the chrome grill and knurled volume knob. Watch this space and I'll let you know how it goes. I'll also post a sample on You Tube. Keep suckin and blowin til you turn 'Blues' in the face!==============================================================================================================================OK. Been playing with this thing all week. It doesn't sound too bad. If you cup it tight, all your highs disappear and it really honks with some good distortion. Cupped loose it's pretty crisp with decent range. The cable is hard-wired into the case. I don't mind that. If you have to send your mic to a technician for repair because you yanked a connection loose, you don't need to be messing with vintage style microphones anyway. The element is a dynamic and resembles a Shure. (Chinese Copy) A real Shure would drop right in. I may do that in the future. For right now, its fine and I like the look and feel. It has an XLR plug and comes with a XLR to ¼ transformer, (not just an adapter). It also comes in a well-built wood case. (This one comes with a bag, not a box) I feel I got my money's worth.Okie Fats Out

volume adjustment stuck...now fouled
DISAPPOINTED!!!!! The Volume knob was stuck right out of the box. Then a band member tried to assist..hit or miss inconsistent sound quality. Back to the SHURE thang.
