The overheating reviews makes perfect sense, read inside.
Ok. Assuming a maximum load of 1000w as specified, using it on a single phase 120v line, would be 8.3 amperes. Let's say a 1 foot round trip (it's AC), which is being conservative, would mean the AWG of the wire used (the soldered wire from the contacts inside the socket to the GU24 conductors/legs) would have to be 12 AWG. 12AWG in aluminum is 0.0808 inches. What does that mean? With that in mind. The standard lead in a mechanical pencil is 0.5 mm which is 0.019685 inches, or 4 times as small as what the wire should be. The opening in the GU24 conductor/leg of these sockets is about 0.08 inches (without breaking out a ruler/micrometer). The wire going to the middle of these legs (i.e. the opening) is smaller, thus, cannot be 12AWG aluminum as they should be.The smaller wire under such a load (e.g. the supposed rated 1000w) would of course act as a heating element, and hopefully burn out sooner than later before a possible fire (the socket material may take the heat but, what someone has plugged into it might not, but then technically IT, the thing that is screwed into the Edison end that is the E26/E27 end, would be at fault). Still, terrible practice. So, in short, as others have stated (perhaps in less technical terms or information provided), these are maybe "okay" for 20 to 60 watt bulbs, but beyond that and the wire used in these sockets will behave as a "slow blow" fuse essentially, but not before being a heating element. To the manufacturer: Do your due diligence and offer up these items with the proper gauge wire from the E26/E27 contacts to the GU24 legs, don't rely on the heat tolerance of the socket material alone. I'm sure these are NOT Underwriter Laboratories certified the way they stand. I didn't bother returning, as my time is more valuable (and I type fast being a coder by nature - so the time spent with this review is worth it to keep a possible tragedy from taking place). If the manufacturer would like to send me corrected ones with a letter stating they plan to make all available stock the way of the ones they send (fat chance, but I'm putting it out there on the table to be fair), then I'll gladly revisit this review and make appropriate changes based on the ones I were to receive (if applicable).Until then, it would be in poor taste to recommend these at this juncture.

If you have GU24 sockets, get these
Just bought a new house. Figured there would be a few GU24 sockets, just like the place we just sold. I have my with swing by Costco to pick up a bunch of bulbs and plan on swapping everything out on my day off while everyone is out of the house. To my supreme disappointment, EVERY SINGLE FIXTURE WAS GU24! The boobie lamps, vanity fixtures, exterior sconces and recessed lighting--ALL GU24! Our last place had about 50% GU24 and the rest were E26. No biggie, it was only 20 bulbs of GU24.Our new place? Roughly 80...Those bulbs are $6-$7 each. Retrofitting, even more expensive...I am so glad I found these adapters. I've bought 5 packs so far. Im OK with the price, because LED are dirt cheap. I hate GU24 with a passion. Can't believe builders were still using these after 2010...Idiots.

I highly recommend
These adapters are well worth the investment. The apartments where I live were built using the 2 prong sockets for every light source except the stove ventilation fan. Although CFL bulbs were given freely, they were dark & underlit for the majority of the windowless space throughout the apartment.Instead of spending hellacious amounts of money on 2 prong LED bulbs I opted for these adapters & Dollar Tree LED bulbs (which work fantastically). Now, I have cut my lighting portion of my power bill down to 15% of what I was using compared to CFL.There are very well built, are not obnoxiously huge & look as if they will provide years of service.I highly recommend these

They work great...secure, and perfect fit
I am so relieved to be able to use screw in bulbs in 4 fixtures in my apartment. The local selection of GU24 bulbs is nearly non-existent. I have had only one choice of temperature of lamp, and now I can select ANY screw in style bulb and make it fit these 4 fixtures, in any of the 10 different positions. So, I can mix intensities if I want to. I like a lot of bright white light, so I've installed all 5100 Kelvin lamps, instead of the 3400 K that the local hardware store has for the GU24 replacement lamps. I am so relieved!

Great idea. less than ideal design...
These adapters are a life saver! I just question their design a little and possibly the safety of having "loose wires" possibly arching inside these adapter..I bought over 40 of them and about 6 did not work (well, if you wiggle them, they worked, but them stopped again), So i took one apart and realized they are not working because the design is a little flawed.. there is only one very thin wire that connects the screw-in part to the bayonet pins and the wires are loose and not tied down or anything, they just kind of touch the bayonet pins and sometimes when the thin wire is not touching it wont work.. You can take the adapter apart and bend the wires a little to make better contact..Look a the attached pictures, you will see the thin wires from the screw-in part just stick through these tiny little holes in the bayonet pins and if they are not making contact on the sides of the hole, it wont work..So my "Safety" question is that if there is a tiny gap and the electricity arch's between the wire and the pin, is this a fire hazard??anyhow, good idea, less good execution.. I might ask an electrician's opinion on these before they burn my house down..
