12 pcs Halogen JC Type Light Bulb G4 Base 12V 20W Watt

UPDATE 11-30-14So the last of the 12 bulbs just burned out. Of those 12, two bulbs were no good straight from the package (tested continuity too). So 10 bulbs lasted about 33 months (nearly 3 years; I'm estimating 4000-5000 hours) of use. For $5, shipping included. Btw, I didn't touch the bulb with bare hand when installing.I just ordered more bulbs, but this time from a different mfg...10 bulbs for $6 with Prime delivery. Let's see how those work out.- - - - - - - - -I told myself I'd write a review after I replaced the first bulb...and I just replaced the first bulb after about 6 months -- I estimate about 900 to 1000 hours of use (but not 2,500 hours as it says on the package).But I bought 12 bulbs for $5.00 (incl. free shipping). Doing the math (and extrapolating) that's about 11,000 hours of light for $5. As opposed to 2,500 hours for $7 (plus gas) if I bought a single bulb from the local home center (assuming, of course, it would actually last that long).So all in all I think it's still a pretty good deal! I had purchased a similar item at a popular home improvement store, but only received two bulbs for around $7.00. After the purchase, I realized that I should have checked on Amazon first, so I did after the fact. I found this deal for a lower price, and a higher quantity of bulbs! So I went with the Amazon purchase instead. While the item description didn't mention use for outdoor lighting, that is my intended usage. The seller shipped the item quickly, and everything arrived exactly as described! I haven't installed any of the bulbs yet, but I can't imagine why they wouldn't work as needed. The wattage, volts, bulb life, etc. are comparable to the ones I traditionally use. I'm issuing this review 4 out of 5 stars only because I haven't used any of the bulbs yet, so holding back on the "fifth" star in the off chance that I encounter a problem down the road.

I ordered these in mid-October of 2011, and installed the first bulb in my desk lamp as soon as they arrived. It just burned out this evening when I went to turn it on. That's certainly better than the handful of days some people are citing in their reviews, but it's a lot more brief than what I'm accustomed to with halogen bulbs. The last bulb I bought for this lamp lasted more like 18 months, rather than merely 5.On the other hand, that single bulb also cost about as much as this 12-pack. Assuming the other 11 last a similar amount of time, I'll still come out ahead in terms of value. And I see they're currently available for even less than when I ordered them. So if you get these, you'll almost certainly go through them faster than you would with higher quality bulbs, but they're so cheap, they're probably worthwhile anyway, from a purely monetary standpoint.

These bulbs work great and they are much much cheaper than what you'd get at Home Depot. They fit the Malibu walk way lights I purchased at Home Depot. I've purchased replacement lighting fixture at Home Depot only to find the bulbs missing. Obviously they were stolen because the cost is so high. Remember that you cannot touch these bulbs with your bare hands. The oil from you hand will causes them to burn out faster. I have found them to work for a year or two. I replaced many of these last fall and they continue to work 5 months later. They're perfect.

Nice and bright. I’m attempting to find LED bulbs to replace these however I have yet to find any that are is nice and bright.

My wife's favorite lamp used these G4-base halogen bulbs, but we've been hard-pressed to find them in our area. The few halogen bulbs we could find were too big, and we'd given up looking. However, these bulbs work a treat! We haven't been using them for long enough to know how well they last, but since you get 12 for just 5 bucks, even if they burn out every few months they'll keep your lamp going for years. Great bargain!September 15th: after 9 months using one of these bulbs, it's still going strong with no sign of dying. The price has gone up a couple of bucks since I bought them, but they're still a great deal.

This is a note to address all of the reviewers who said they were getting a short service life out of these bulbs. When handling the bulbs you must never touch them with your bare hands! Put on clean rubber or plastic gloves. Any contamination on the bulb surface, including the oils from your skin, will greatly reduce their service life. If you keep the bulbs absolutely clean, you should get a long service life out of them. This is true of all halogen bulbs, not just these.

I guess these are OK...but I couldn't swear to it. As it turned out, the lamp for which I bought them was broken, mechanically, so a new bulb wasn't going to fix it. I deep-sixed the broken lamp, and now have 12 bulbs I don't need.
