Library Mouse Hardcover – Picture Book, September 1, 2007

Read this book to a discerning group of 1st Graders and by the end of Sam’s exploits they were ready to write and illustrate their own stories! I left them with the next 4 books in the series because they were so well-done and super inspiring! Thanks, Sam!

We use this book to kick off our personal narrative writing unit in the fall elementary classroom. It’s a cute story about a mouse who writes tiny books of his adventures.

Library Mouse is a great picture book. About Sam, a mouse that lives in a hole in the wall of the childrens refrence section in the library who decides to become an author. My 3 and 6 year olds love this book, and it is well written enough that I don't mind reading it over and over again. Library Mouse is continually the book my children want read to them first every night and it has them playing library and pretending to be authors. I would definitely recommend this book for parents or folks reading to young kids.

We love these books. So fun to read about Sam's adventures.

I purchased this book for my two and a half year old son about a month ago. We read this together every weekend. It is so funny because he memorizes the pages and we take turns reading to each other. We shopped at a local flea market last week, one vendor had a stuffed toy mouse and my son looked at me and said, "Is that the Library Mouse?" It was so funny. This is an excellent book that encourages kids to write books of their own. I wish I could show you the ones my son has put together.

Quite a few pages were colored on or noticeably dirty. I was expecting a little less of that based on the condition rating I picked. But it is still very much a readable and fun to have book!

The Library Mouse is a fabulous book for children in the early years of school. A mouse lives in the school library, and decides to write his own books. Of course, they are very small, but he cleverly shelves them in the right places. The mystery of the tiny books intrigues the children. Evemtually, the mouse has a very clever idea that is destined to inspire the children to write their own books.Thoroughly recommended.

Awesome mentor text for launching a writer's workshop/book making. The kids loved this book and related to Library Mouse. They all wanted to writer their own books. Make the little "Meet the Author" box library mouse did. The kids will love the surprise they see when they look in the box.

I always use this book for a writing lesson with my Kindergarten class. They "write" their own books just like Kibrary Mouse, and then we put them on the library shelves for our librarian to find. They love this activity, and really like surprising the librarian.
