great theater system for the price
This is a pretty nice system for the price. It does not sound like a 1k plus system, with super deep lows and crisp clean mids, but for many this will do, especially in a tight spot. I bought it for my grandmother, who moved into a smaller house, and she loves the size and sound. She says it sounds better than her old old floor speakers. Bottom line, it is a theater system for a small space, and it is easy enough for a grandparent to use.

Sounds great, looks great, good price. SLOW apps, no Amazon Prime
Awesome sound and bluray set up for price, however the apps are limited and overall system is very slow. The sound is LOUD--I tested before throwing away the gigantic box. Little to no distortion.Like any surround sound unit, some scenes are difficult to hear dialogue when playing quietly at night. The only real problems are:-SLOW, SLUGGISH APPS, unable to download new apps e.g. Amazon Prime-No video input at all--therefore no way to watch from PC, HDMI stick or player like Roku, Firestick, Chromecast. I do use Chromecast but had to buy an audio separator and run video to my projector and audio to the player, which is then not in surround sound.

5.1 Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio Entry Level HomeTheater
Ok, this entry level home theater has the basic technology to enjoy current generation video and sound quality. To begin, the design of the player is sleek and is decently sized, the speakers are very good looking too. The materials are very glossy and I love that. I have a problem with the volume keys wich are oversized for convenience BUT, they feel rubish and the design feels kind of out of place with the rest. The unit itself feels made of standard cheap materials to be honest. Now, when it comes to the user interface, it is standard at best, probably because I am very used to play my Bluray collection on my PS3 and the XMB is very sleek and fast, this one, again, feels rubish and generic. It doesnt really use any Java trick to get smoth animations at all. The internet apps are located at the bottom of the screen and you have to go page by page to the sides see them all and you are unable to locate the most used apps in the first page for easy access. The movie tittle sprite that usually appears on the PS3 XMB is not shown on this player. and for some reason the icon to select the bluray movie is hidden until you press the yellow button on the remote, instead you are offered the options to play music, videos or photos using the online connection or USB. Very impractical taking into consideration this is a BLURAY PLAYER first and foremost. Now, the most important thing.Audio:Side note for reference: (I used to use a 5.1 LOGITECH X-530 unit. The sound is clearer and it has the same bass levels after some minor adjustment then the logitech one. The side speakers were larger thus generating a louer sound but just a minor difference, nothing that cannot be adjusted in the Samsung settings.)The main sound decoders on this player are:Dolby Digital DTS Dolby DigitalDolby True HD DTS HD Master Audio EssensialsThe sound is very good, I reach 50% of the volume capacity and dont notice any distortion or overload noise. Channel separation is very clear and the Cristal Amplifier Plus (Built in by default, not something you can actually turn on or off) allows for even clearer nuances in the sound track being music or sound effects. The quality of the audio will also depend of the source. You will probably not notice any difference between Dolby Digital and Dolby True HD but when it comes to DTS HD Master Audio, you will experience the same clarity but there are jumps in volume according to whats happening on screen which are very good, in short and in my own experience DTS MA is louder but not necesarily "noisy", it is loud but still very clear. Try The Lord of The Rings Extended Trilogy (DT MA), The hospital explotion scene from The Dark Knight(DTrueHD), Avatar and Master and Commander as clear examples on what to expect fromthis playerI connected my PS3 using the optical in and the Dolby Digital tracks sound good, very standard to what you are probably used to hear by now (GTA V). Games that make use of the DTS Digital Surround sound louder and more dinamic in my opinion. Try using Bioshock Infinite, The Last Of Us, Tomb Raider and Uncharted 3 (Also in 3D) and you will tell te diference.Overall I am very pleased with the experience. my living room is quite small wich also benefits the experience from this small and cost effective player. I have not tried the 3D option yet but I dont think that will be a problem since that technology is very standard among brands (in 3D the TV does the difference not the player I think) so if you are on a short budget but are scared to buy this one, dont doubt it, you will not be dissapointed by the sound (the most important thing). I was obsessed with this player before buying it and when I had it, it fulfilled my expectations up to a 90% which is not bad. It's just that I am very picky with tech.Buy it!

Pain in the a$$
I set it up and the sound didn't work. After several minutes of messing with it the sound turned on. It would take 10 minutes to an hour for the sound to start working. It also froze up often. I called samsung customer service twice. The first time the guy told me to unplug it and plug it back in and hung up. The second time they had me reset it and it didn't work. So I decided to send it back to Amazon for a new one but they are out of stock. I wanted to exchange it for a different one at the same price that was sold by Amazon but it wouldn't let me for who knows what reason.

Samsung FT4500
To begin with, it was a hassle trying to update both my tv and blue ray player hardware so they could work properly . Sound quiality is good and equipment is also in good shape.

Great streaming device with awesome sound quality :-)
Awesome sound. Blu-ray and streaming from netflix works like a charm. Definitely worth the money. The front-speaker could have been a little louder.

BUYER BEWARE FROM WHERE YOU BUY
I dealt with a store on Amazon called "Secondipity". They had to send me 2 units, each was defective or missing pieces. It was a Birthday gift for a child and they totally blew it. The first one came without a remote and did not put out sound, the second one also did not put out sound nor did it come with speaker wires, which are specific to Samsung units. I got tired of going back to the UPS store for returns and then got it through another store on Amazon 'Ocean Reef Electronics" and theirs worked fine and included all the parts/pieces. This unit is great for a small space but I would not use it in large viewing rooms. Additionally, when you remove the the DVD or turn the power off, it ALWAYS starts from the beginning, unlike other DVD players that pick up from where you left off. Additionally it was advertised as wireless and wifi but it is not wireless, you must connect an ethernet cable to access any of the streaming or networking features. It's a good starter system for smaller rooms but is not that powerful nor full featured.
