Too tall for my car
This jack was inexpensive and easy to use. It says it's designed to lift the car up, but not hold the car up for extended periods. I think it's talking about people who'll use it to change their oil - I never had any problem with it.Unfortunately, this jack's lowest setting was too high to get under the support beam. This meant I had to use the annoying jack that came with the car to lift it up, then transfer the weight to this jack so I could easily change a flat. Next time I'm going to check the clearance and the lowest setting for the jack. (This one seems to be 5.25" - I assume it isn't 525")

Maybe I just got a bad one.
So I used this jack on the weekend for the first time. The car I was lifting is a 1963 Mercury Comet with a curb weight of 2965lbs (1.5 ton) (about 200lbs more than a Honda fit). So lifting the car should be well within the capabilities of a 2 ton rated jack.Attempting to put jack stands under the front rails, the following occurred:a) the tack weld holding the locator pin on the handle broke, allowing the pin to fall out.b) the cylinder seal blew before the front suspension was fully unweighted, and the jack could no longer lift.c) the jack handle stuck in the jack, forcing me to use a screwdriver to lower the now ineffective jack.Maybe the QC guy just fell asleep when my jack went down the assembly line, but a triple failure on first use meant an unscheduled trip to Harbor Freight to buy a jack that actually lifts things, this one gets returned and I never buy another Larin product again.

GREAT FLOOR JACK!!!
I have had this jack for at least 20 years. I have had no problems with this jack. I have used it to lower transmissions and to raise cars and trucks. Now over an extended peroid of time the jack will leak down. I'm going to buy some hydraulic fluid and drain out the old and replace it with fresh fluid. I just bought a replacement floor jack. Don't have the heart to toss the old one. I checked the "O" rings and they look good. People don't realize that you only use the floor jack to raise the car or truck and then you use jack stands to support the vehicle. NEVER work under a vehicle with only a floor jack supporting it. My Larin has been a great jack! Bought it 20 years ago on sale for $19.99.

No Customer Support
Larin provides NO customer support for repairing their jacks. Requests for parts and an entire Hydraulic Unit Assembly were answered with no parts are available because "safety standards have been revised." So if you want a floor jack that may need to have the O ring replaced when jack fluid starts leaking and the jack fails to hold a load, don't buy a Larin.
