Yes you can. Mix it with a hair grease or dressing of your choice. It will definitely do a great job and not flake .

Q: Can you easily comb through hair once applied or is it sticky?

Its sticky, if too much is applied. I don't use it anymore. I have three new just sitting there in the closet.
